You can get one from the daily manouvres task as a Senior prefect, from a legacy scroll task or very rarely from invading wildlands. I understand that Jagex is looking into the lockbox/diagram drop rates issue, so we can expect them to up the droprate of diagrams maybe within the next year or so (hopefully within the month, but we all know how that works).

Most of the people near me are still under newb protection, but those that aren't are all inactive and I just use them for extra resources (I got about 140k food from 3 invasions into one of them). :thumbsup: :twisted: Not that anyone would attack me, anyways. My neighbors probably can't even spy on me thanks to my level [classified] watchtower. :razz:

From what I understand, they can take about 25% of your resources. I've heard they can also enslave you(r city) if your city's morale is low enough, but I have yet to try that myself (still have ~4 hours until I exit newb protection). As for the archers/swordsmen, I prefer to take advantage of weaknesses (ie use archers against halberdiers, swordsman against archers, etc.), but I have only invaded one lvl 4 wilderness on 0 lvl 5 wildernesses and have heard it's best to just bulk up on archers and try to take everyone down with the free shot at the start.

That is exactly my plan! :thumbup: 80 free credits cool beans! Surely they are only useful early on when buildings are cheap and you can build thick and fast. Later on, suely it will be the case that you will rarely have the resources to build more at once. I bring this from experience playing Travian, early in the game you cannot build, fast enough, but later on it is hard to build more than one thing per day. I'd prefer to have a slower start but have a 20%+ bonus later on when things become more critical. You'll start new cities quite often, then it's so useful to have this labour bill. I can't miss this thing! So far, I have yet to regret using labor bills. You can use up a lot of resources recruiting your army, but I find that, as things become more resource-demanding, my production rates also rise at a similar rate and I haven't gotten too low on anything since I found that wood is the most demanded item and increased its production a butt-load in comparison to the other resources (I did start running a little low on food yesterday as well, but I still managed to keep all five construction teams busy most of the day upping my food production :razz: ). Also, as things take longer and longer to build, you have more and more time between building projects to refresh your supplies. And, of course, tasks give back enough to pay for much of what you spend on buildings.

You have to 'summon' them. In other words, you have to pay them in order to join you and take them off of 'prisoner' status. And be aware that their loyalty is pretty low to begin with (I believe the one I summoned started at like 50% loyalty and I had to waste some extra money to get it up to a more suitable level (but that's not keeping me from holding two more prisoner just in case I feel I need them :wink: :razz: ).

There are two ways to open yourself up for attack: get a lvl 10 palace, or have an account that's been active for 7 days. I plan on spending all my resources on defenses and military personnel the last 24 hours. :twisted: (or should it be :ohnoes: ?)

I just applied for Golden Horde on imperial palace. Knowing my luck, I'm in a completely wrong territory, but what the heck, right?

I also enjoyed the second article. People put too much emphasis on levels and money/items. That's actually one of the reasons I'm semi-retired (if not THE reason): none of my friends ever wanted to take a break from skilling/monster hunting/whatever to just hang out in Edgeville with our skill capes and rubber chickens/play a game of CW/etc. and I just got more and more bored until I just sold everything and put all my money into the lower rares (not necessarily a bad thing, though since my bank value has since gone from ~150 mill to over 500 mill :thumbsup: ). We need to remember that RuneScape is a game made for having fun. Don't get me wrong, leveling and making money aren't bad things to do and they can allow for having more fun later, but remember that great old cliche "everything in moderation."
