And a spec is never a reason to pick a weapon. I maxed def long before I started with att and str (88 each when I had 99 def), so I've had to do str training. There's absolutely no comparison between a long and a scim...scim destroys it. We shouldn't be berating anybody about their choice between a dragon longsword or a dragon scimitar because its their character and thus their choice. Same with a granite maul. I don't need to deal with immature players that call me a "noob" just because I don't have a granite maul. I prefer the balanced quality of a longsword over any weapon, any day of the week.
