TotalTalker
hey guys, ive been thinking for a while now. google is a huge internet company (as you obviously know) owned by two rather young multi billionnaires. but how does a search engine get its profit? do the websites its linked to gve them noey for advertisement or something? i mean theres no ads on the homepage, which never changes
Ginger_Warrior
Ever seen the "ads by Google" messages, next to advertising banners? That's how. Make an absolute killing out of it, especially when you consider how vast the Internet is. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

Nadril
Thats a googol not a google. And a googol is the number '1' with a hundred '0's after it.

Mercifull
That's what it is named after, though.I thought i read an interview they said they just made it up? Anyway, ad revenue is only one way they make money. Lots of search engine companies have corporate arms to provide enterprise solutions too. Will H
A googol is 1 followed by 100 digits: 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000if you like. They wanted to name the company googol to represent how vast the internet was, but due to a typing error when creating the buisness, google came up and the name stuck. Also, google make it's money from ads. ~ W ~
