vilageidiotx
Happy easter, regardless of your religion or lack thereof! Satenza, i assume you are atheist, and probably follow modern theorys as to where the universe came from. I would suggest you question the logic of these modern theorys, cause it seem much more plausible a supernatural being created the universe then it just kind of happened. Honestly, i thought current theorys were right to until they get to the big bang, which, as i understand it, is the theory that a random giant explosion in the middle of nothingness, caused by nothing, created the universe. A supernatural being is different, as its something you cant really prove or test, and adds the X factor needed to complete the universal equation. I do admit i might be ill informed about the Big Bang theory, so i would like it if you would correct what i have said, but if you do have a cause then i only request you anwser where the big bangs cause came from, and the cause of the cause of the big bang came from, ect ect ect.... Some people are like slinkies, normally they are dull, but they always give you a smile when you push them down a flight of stairs.
Punc
Always found it weird that Christian holidays fell within 2-3 days of already excisting holidays (like Passover in this case). But nonetheless: happy Easter, always loved to go egg hunting in our yard :D

ThurinEthir
Great job, you've turned another thread into a religious debate. Anyways, if you celebrate Easter as the day Jesus resurrected, great! Happy Easter! If you "celebrate" it by eating chocolate and st0ff, fine, go ahead. Just don't say you're celebrating Easter. Say you're celebrating Eating-Chocolate-Eggs-And-Bunnies-Day. Don't flame me. And. Happy Easter! Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu. insane
Beat me to it, anyway Happy Easter to everyone today was a great day. People that say it is all about chocolate are very ignorant if they think that. Well, to me it is, because I don't believe in Christianity. Am I ignorant for not believing in Christianity? For those who do believe, it will mean more to you, obviously I can accept that and I'm happy for you if it makes you happy, but don't tell me what or what not to believe. That isn't just directed at you, but also the thread starter. Again. Right, so you get a day off work for chocolate? Give me a break. You can pretend all you want that this holiday is what you make of it but we all know that if it wasn't for Christianity, this "holiday" weekend (as you would call it) wouldn't exist. Satenza
It was a Pagan holiday before it was Christian. With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

We celebrate Easter on Good Friday, do you celebrate chocolate day? If not, why do you take the day off work?

To be fair though mate, I'm not pretending this holiday is anything. I'm not really pretending it's a holiday, I've never really taken it seriously. As a 7 year old child, with all the chocolate being thrown about, hell yeah it was serious! But now, due to my beliefs, I wouldn't say at all. All I know is, some people do, for whatever reason, and even if it doesn't apply to myself, I would wish them a good day. I have to admit, I'd take any reason under the sun to have a day off work though :P This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
