What is the most honored skill cape?

Featured Replies

every 99 skill is something to be proud off...

some skills are easier to get when ure rich ( cooking, fletching, prayer, construction, magic and range ) but still, every cape should be honoured

In my opinion, smithing is an honoured cape, it has a very high price tag just like herblore and construction.

And all the mentioned ones before.

Doomy edit: I like sheep

herblore is to easy to buy

yeah, but like construction, it is very impressive to be able to have the money to buy it.

I'd say mining, agility, slayer, rc, farming, construction herblore..etc are very respectable. Smithing as well.

Slayer

Rc

id say faming is my no 1 due to so much pateince (which i do not have) then agility followed by mining.

i'd repect a 99 construction, if he/she has a very good house and didnt buy the items solely for the lv.

How has nobody said wcing yet?

I think it's farming, agility, mining, and WOODCUTTING.

I'd say Slayer thats a rough one and most people who do slayer just stop at 85 which really isn't too great IMO.. Yes i'm 85 but i plan to get 90+ slayer after i raise other skills noncombat skills mainly

rc mining and construction are up there too..

Mining drives me nuts

RC really annoys me to death lol Its sooo Slow

construction is so boring when i think of raising i wanna stab myself

Like everyone else said, the skills that can't be bought. Agility, Mining. Anyone that calls any skill cape a "nub cape" like you said, is lame. Any 99 takes awhile. They're just jealous.

Amen. Any 99 is difficult to achieve, some easier than others.

99 Hits, Attack, Strength, Defence, Mage, Summoning, Slayer, Ranged, 96/99 Prayer

I would say slayer, smithing, herblore, and mining, I have only seen those capes a few times compared to the amount of times I have seen the prayer, attack, or strength capes.

Why does everyone think that 'buyable' skills are so terrible (or not respected, I'll say)? :-k Yes, they can be bought, but that doesn't mean that the money for the skill just appears out of thin air. It takes a long time to make the gp necessary to train those skills.

Its not that theyre not respected... just respected less

sigbv9.jpg

I respect farming, slayer, runecrafting, smithing the most

construction, prayer just indicate wealth. while that wealth can come from hard work, there a lot of people who got that rich because they got phats back when they were free/cheap

mining and agility I respect for the amount of annoying work that is required, but they are still a good bit faster than the others

Cooking, Fletching, Firemaking at the bottom of my list.

Construction at the top.

Firemaking? It's common but not easy. It requires a lot of clicking were as cooking and fletching are cook x and fletch x.

I saw a level 60 today at shilo with a rc cape. That was cool.

But the ones that i give the most respect for are mining, and herblore.

The ones I respect most are:

Slayer

Agility

Hunter

Runecrafting

Herblore

Farming

Mining

Smithing

Well that's what I'm basically saying.. Why is it that people look down on buyable skills and think, "Oh, it's just 99 herblore, that's so easy to buy." Yes, you can buy it, yes money does speed up the process, but getting the money can take months on its own. Then after you have all the supplies, you still have to spend another few weeks getting to level 99.

With a buyable skill, you essentially have to do two skills. You have to do the mundane skill to get the money (i.e. mining, runecrafting , woodcutting, or even merchanting), then after that you still have to train the skill that you want 99 in.

I wuz actually thinkin the same thing hehe

Plus some ppl would rather jus buy a rare than invest in a skill

sigbv9.jpg

i respect slayer capes the most because it is the most tedious to train... you cant just stand in one spot and power train it for hours

True.

Non-buyable skills can be understood much more easily than buyable skills. Non-buyable skills are based on one simple factor- time. Now, if you ignore general relativity, that's pretty easy. You just look at the fastest way to train, calculate the experience per hour, and then calculate the hours to reach 99. There you have it, precise data on how easy it is to gain a 99 in that skill, compared directly to other skills.

With buyable skills it becomes more complicated. Not only is time a factor, but money is as well. Now, instead of just being able to look at how many hours it takes, a viewer must expand their vision from a one dimensional scale to a two dimensional scale. That's going from an infinitely small point to an infinitely large flat plane.

One now has to examine everything like a graph, the x-axis being time and the y being money. Different amounts of money lead to different requirements of time, and, to make things even more complicated, the time it takes to actually get the money is yet another factor (i.e. the z-axis). Bam, that's three dimensions. Now the viewer has to examine a 99 based on how fast they get money, how much time it takes to reach 99, and how money effects the amount of time the training takes. The fact that money gaining speed varies between players doesn't exactly help, either.

So ya, put simply, it's infinitely (infinity squared o_O) more difficult to understand how hard it is to reach 99 in a buyable skill then in a non-buyable skill :) .

Making natures for life

I personally despise the people who say "Lolz nub cape"... Just because they are a lot less challenging than others doesn't mean they are "easy". More than half of the morons who say that are no where near in range of any skill cape

I actually saw someone who got the agility cape in a small amount of time on Runevillage, so while that one is impressive, it dropped a bit on my list seeing someone achieve it so quickly. It's not that the exp rate is *that* slow an hour, it's just that people don't have much tolerance for it.

Firemaking as a low one? Sure, it's one of the popular ones but it's not easy. People just seem to think if you have the supplies it becomes easy. Burning that many logs isn't as simple as you think it is. Maybe you should go for 99 fm before judging it.

As for the most respected one, I believe it is 99 slayer without competition.

Runecrafting without the user of runners would also be an honourable mention

Mining comes to mind because I hate it so much and for some reason a 99 farmer shouts out "Hawt skiller" to me :P

I miss you all (Well, mostly my friends n stuff)

If you want to talk to me, send me a message, I check the boards daily. :D

I would say mining is one because there is NO way you can buy and have to spend months getting to 99 working EVERY day.

Slayer is also hard because some assignements are a waste of time and well it's generally slow. But slayer can be bought in a way, because you can just get cannon for example IF you have the resources.

So those are the 2 first in my opinion and then would come agility. These are 3 hardest, not sure if most respected though.
