The reason why the rule exists is because it gives players an unfair advantage, since the script does not give me an unfair advantage, technically it should be an exception to the rule.

It gives you an advantage over people who report macros all the time when they play runescape. Your script gives you an advantage over them as they need to sleep/eat/do whatever, and you can continue to report...

Um... The people who report people all the time aren't gaining anything from it, so it is irrelevant.

Jagex probably has a zero-tolerance for macros. So it doesn't matter if you're gaining from the macro or not, it is still against the rules even if it might help the game in the long run. If they started making exceptions for some macros then more and more people would be trying to find the loophole so their macro will be considered ok. It's much simpler for Jagex to just draw the line at No Macros.

What if after every report they get happier? And theres also the chance of becoming a player moderator...

Not much of a chance on an account that macroed to get the reports, but meh.

I don't get happier after every report, as a macro is doing it, not me.

I have already covered player moderators.

The reason why macroing is against the rules, is because it gives players an unfair advantage. My script however does not. Even though it still is macroing, logically there should be an exception, because it doesn't violate the reason WHY macroing is not allowed.

LMAO at the title, but this guy has an awesome point!!

Rule 7 - Using Third Party Software

Effective date: 7th March 2007

You must not use other software to gain an unfair advantage in the game. This includes automation tools, macros, bots, or auto-typers. You may not circumvent any of our mechanisms designed to automatically log out inactive users.

You also must not use any RuneScape-specific third party software which encourages breaking of our rules, or bypasses the normal navigation of our website, or automatically requests pages from our website, or which endangers user accounts.

In my opinion, such a script violates none of these proscriptions.

Second, their game engine has a way of detecting macroes. Everytime someone with a foreign program that helps with rs (not 3rd party clients but other stuff) logs in, its recorded and flagged. Jagex just goes through and manually bans them...but they should be auto-banned. This is from a suggestion i read a bit ago.

i heard that there is a way to get around that that i dont believe Jagex has been able to fix yet: using a script from a Mac. i've never actually tried this one out because i haven't the s[/hide]lightest idea how to write a script.

Never tell people how to do things. Tell them what to do and they will surprise you with their ingenuity.

Jagex should try this ::'

Or they could spend ten minutes a day going to the worlds and hand picking macroers to be banned...

Your a member, could you send a message to jagex about this?

go for it, sacrifice 1 to destry 100 of them is worth it

Wouldn't you be pissed if you were that one?

Jagex doesn't ban you right away you are reported.

They watch you for a while.

Iamdan, you don't need to be a Member to make Jagex read your messages. I'm F2P since I started playing, and they took about 1 week to answer my only question.

A Macro for reporting Macros? Hahaha, the best irony on Tip.it! Or not.

I guess it'd be awfully useful, however it's still a macro and what about the lvl3 skillers that can't be bothered to change clothing that are skilling up? Their hard work would go crap.

I agree and don't agree with this. Sorta.

I wanna see Jagex using a Macro to report Macros and them a player using the Macro that reports Macros reports Jagex's Macro so Jagex bans him because he used a Macro that reports Macros to report their Macro that reports Macros. Who can say this fast? :P
