May 1, 200719 yr I know theres a few nhl threads but they are pretty old and not really focused on the playoffs. So far its West Canucks vs Ducks, ducks lead 2-1 series San jose vs Detroit, sharks lead 2-1 East Buffalo vs NY rangers, buff leads 2-1 Ottawa vs New jersy, Sens lead 2-1 I'm a canucks fan and after watching all of the dallas series, i think the canucks can pull through the ducks, get a few more injured players back, this series will be a close one. Mitchell has being laying a beatin to a few players, and as usual Luongo is at his best, Salo's back and Bieksa has started to skate again. What you guys think? always trading cooked : monkfish and sharks for your raw
May 1, 200719 yr Well I'm a Canuck season ticket holder and last nights game in my opinion was winnable for the Canucks. The Canucks PP was just brutal! 2 5 on 3's should be automatic goals. Maybe because it was the 25th anniversary of the "Towel Power" the Canucks had to lose, same of what happened when "Towel" Power started. But that team in 1982 came back and won the series. Hopefully, it happens with the Canucks too! Luongo needs to steal a game or two and be especially good when the Canucks take their stupid penalties *cough* Naslund *cough*. Canucks need Matt Cooke back and Kesler won't be back probably until the 3rd round if the Canucks win this round. Giguere's pads are as big as it gets but his lateral movement from side-to-side isn't great and I think the Canucks should work with the side boards and get Pyatt/Cowan infront of the net. Their powerplay revolves around cycling too much and if they get people infront of the net and get Giguere off his game, the Canucks have a great chance of winning this series. May 1, 200719 yr I think Buffalo is gonna be difficult to beat in the East, and in the West, San Jose and Vancouver are the teams to watch. Miller, for Buffalo, simply has been playing like something I have never seen in my life and has been getting adequate goal support. San Jose has Thornton, Cheechoo and Michalek (sp?) as well as Nabokov. Thornton has been relatively quiet so far, so look for him to hit the scoresheet more. Vancouver has the Sedins and Luongo. You can never argue against those 3... Of course, these are just my opinions, and as I am not an official analyst I could be wrong.
May 1, 200719 yr I was really REALLY surprised when the sens managed to climb up the ladders even if they were a bit slow to start... Personally I had high hopes for the Leafs to get to the playoffs, but 1 measly point by the Islanders knocked them off a spot... *sign* Well as long as a Canadian team gets the cup this season... I'll be happy. :( The Enrichment Center reminds you that the weighted companion cube will never threaten to stab you and, in fact, cannot speak. In the event that the weighted companion cube does speak, the Enrichment Center urges you to disregard its advice.
May 1, 200719 yr Author yeah the islanders got knocked out pretty quick, the sens seem like they'll beat the devils so far, i'm ready for the canucks game tonight, its gonna be a close one i think. i could see this series going all the way to 7. I think if the canucks can make it by the ducks, there next series against san jose or detroit should be alot easier than the ducks. always trading cooked : monkfish and sharks for your raw
May 1, 200719 yr I'm rooting for Vancouver in the west and Buffalo in the east. Of course... the senators knocked out my favorite team, the Pittsburgh penguins. People here had lots of high expectations for the pens, but they never really played one solid complete game in that series... surprising in a way with our young firepower, but the senators had more depth and more experience. Emery has been playing fairly well in goal too :-k
May 1, 200719 yr Go Sens. Don't worry. I like Vancouver too. Two teams I DONT want to see win are the Red Wings and the Rangers. Trix.--quit WoW as of 12/07Thank you 4be2jue for the wonderful sig and avatar!
May 1, 200719 yr Go Sens. Don't worry. I like Vancouver too. Two teams I DONT want to see win are the Red Wings and the Rangers. PFFt... Devils + Rangers are so much better. Even though they are both down now  But they'll get back up... eventually
May 1, 200719 yr Since my Leafs aren't in the playoffs I just want to see good hockey and the teams I hate knocked out. I want to see Detroit and New Jersey knocked out, and I want to see an Ottawa vs. Buffalo conference final... that would be CRAZY. Ideally, Ottawa vs. Vancouver for the cup but I think Anaheim is too strong for the Canucks.
May 2, 200719 yr I think Ducks will win in 6 or 7 games. They are very strong. Even tho they aren't playing very good they still win games. San Jose are a huge team. They are so strong. They will defeated Red wings in 6 games. Buffalo will have a hard time. (1-0 rangers right now in game 4). But I think Buffalo still will take it in 7. Sens looks good.. If Devils is gonna have a chance Marty will have to steal a game or two. Sens will win in 6. Go ducks!! :D
May 2, 200719 yr Go wings :) ...... I just want to see them win one stanley cup that's all. And I don't want the dead wings to come back :( Tbfgraphx14Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass.
May 2, 200719 yr Briere's shot wasn't clearly in the net, since the puck has to go right past the red line. Lundqvist's pad blocked any 100% chance of seeing if it was 100% goal. Rangers need to win 1 away game and they'll win this series since they seem to always win @ home. I think the Canucks will show up tonight and win 3-1 or 3-2. I like NJ since Brodeur is on their team but NJ's offense NEEDS TO SCORE. They have Zach Parise, Elias, Gomez, langenbrunner... Ray Emery is shaky and isn't THAT great! Fire more shots and he'll let some up. The SJ/Detroit series seems like it will be over in 5 or 6. San Jose is too strong and Nabokov is on a roll. Even though his pads seem big :-# RSN: Zammyftw ^^The girl that ruined music.
May 2, 200719 yr Briere's shot wasn't clearly in the net, since the puck has to go right past the red line. Lundqvist's pad blocked any 100% chance of seeing if it was 100% goal It was clearly in the net, the video replay just didn't show it. Lundqvist pads were black on the front and they were almost entirely over the line. If the play was initially ruled a goal it would have stood. I don't blame the video replay judge, I blame the referee for making a bad initial call.
May 2, 200719 yr woo go red sox \ wow dude... SABRES FTW that was a goal by the way The world is full of self proclaimed experts who really don't know what they are talking about.
May 2, 200719 yr Go wings :) ...... I just want to see them win one stanley cup that's all. And I don't want the dead wings to come back :( they bought the cup in 2001\2002 when Hasek renounced buffalo like an idiot burying himself in hate here. The world is full of self proclaimed experts who really don't know what they are talking about.
May 3, 200719 yr Author well after watching the canucks take such a dive on tuesday i've lost hope in them, game 5 will most likely be there last. not impressed, atleast ottawa's still in, have a feeling buffallo will be a challenge for them if they get into a series. always trading cooked : monkfish and sharks for your raw
May 4, 200719 yr ANAHEIM ! <3 SELÃÆÃââââ¬Ã¾NNE <3<3<3 he was my fav player when i was into hockey like 8 years ago :) and anaheim and san jose were my favorite teams so either one of those will win : Doctor of Dental Surgery-2014Medical Doctor-2018?Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon-2024?
May 4, 200719 yr Canucks is out.. Thanks to Luongo the game was close. 2-1 for Ducks in game 5 (OT) 63-27 shots
May 4, 200719 yr ANAHEIM ! <3 SELÃÆÃââââ¬Ã¾NNE <3<3<3 he was my fav player when i was into hockey like 8 years ago :) and anaheim and san jose were my favorite teams so either one of those will win : SelÃÆÃâÃâänne has been pretty quiet though. Outscored, 7 points to 6, by Samuel PÃÆÃâÃâÃÂ¥hlsson is not a good sign. I suppose he's been okay, but Anaheim will need for him to step it up as they will be facing a tougher opponent in the next round. In Sweden they often refer to SelÃÆÃâÃâänne as the guy who hasn't won anything. Sure he has a few individual throphies, but a Stanley Cup is probably needed to rub that name off. I'd say he's got a pretty good shot at it with Pronger, Niedermayer and Giguere leading the way.
May 4, 200719 yr Anaheim's first goal should not have counted. Luongo was forced into the net by the Anaheim player and they scored while he was in the net? That's ridiculous.
