Post Your Superstitions and Strange Coincidences Here!

Featured Replies

Does anybody here have any Superstitions of Coincidences that happen a lot to them? I don't really have any superstitions, but for coincidences almost every single night (about 5 times a week) I look at the clock and it says 9:11pm, now most of you know what that means (September 11th, 9-1-1, also the time my little sister was born  ). Pretty weird huh?

I am extremely superstitious, although I hate being so, but it's my mind that makes me do it!

Like repeating tasks until I've done them an even number of times, and avoiding mirrors.

Me doing staff.

I don't step on sidewalk cracks.

Well, erm the closest I've come to superstition is:

For about a week I was afraid to walk around corners and open doors, because I was afraid there would be an elephant-man (elephant head, man's body) lurking behind, waiting for me.

Note that it only happened about a month ago

I avoid cracks whenever i can, and whenever i glance at the clock after school, it's 444, the devil's number and my address...eerie...

I used to have the same 9:11 thing.. It happened for a few years back when I could go to bed at 9:15. :P

The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.

I always seem to wake up on the hour. Habit I suppose (hope)

Isn't 666 the devil's number?

I'm not too superstitious. Although sometimes when I find myself about to walk under a ladder, I stop myself and go around.

I don't believe in any superstitions ::'

And coincidences happen soo much :uhh:

Like I was acting like a jackass in Geometry class this week. My friend Jordan asks what something said under "polyhedron" and I answered "your face!". It was "face".

They're all just glitches in the matrix...

:anxious:

I always do the exact same thing before sleeping. I don't know why...I've done it for 4 years now, I guess it's stuck.

And for coincidences...Very often. I met my classmate in France once, and we hadn't talked to each other all summer or about our summer plans at all. Or that time my friend was asking me for the answers of math homework and the problem was 14*3....Naturally, I said 42 without thinking...Or that other time I was reading a thread about how the Kandarin standard (In RuneScape) was similar to some company I've never heard of...And later, while getting out of my uncle's car, I look down and see the logo for that company and the name...And probably a lot weirder coincidences I can't think of right now...

Cenin pân nîd, istan pân nîd, dan nin ú-cenich, nin ú-istach.

Ithil luin eria vi menel caran...Tîn dan delu.

I usually advoid cracks in the sidewalk for some weird reason. I don't know, but it's just a pet peeve to step on one.

:P (great movie/s)

I am one of the most, if not the most, paranoid persons \jumpy you will ever meet. I often have dreams of people sneaking into my house every time we leave, waiting for me to come downstairs and be alone, then *bam* I'm stabbed.

At school, If people just motion towards me, I jump or lift my arm in the direction.

Same with me. My school gets crowded in the hallways and a lot of people are thugs... I get real paranoid about that... But most are just stupid and run into each other. (Idiots stop in hallway or walk super slow or just stop, do a 180 and run right into you and act like it's your fault.)

Me neither. I don't know why, I just avoid it.

It really has

I'm the opposite I try to step on cracks on the sidewalk.

Avoiding cracks in the side-walk is a sign of OCD...Well, if you do it for no real reason. I used to do it aswell, and I used to like to do things in even numbers. Grew out of it on my own about 2 or 3 years after I started doing it. Never effected my life like major OCD does, but I'd wager I had it a bit. :P

I get really weird premonitions every now and then. I mean like really weird. I'm not sure if they tecnically classify as premonitions, but I can just kind of 'shut off' my mind, and random words just appear in my thoughts, when I meditate/relax before bed. I've had a few things happen like this; one being at a camporee for bys scouts a few years back. The words: Jared help ravine poison, all came into my head. The next day, we were walking by the semi-dried stream, and we (my friends and I) heard some adult dude selling, he was yelling: "Jared! Are you all right?" Jared, some little tenderfoot scout, was trying to catch a frog, and had stubled, cut up his leg pretty bad, and had grabbed onto some poison oak to pull himself out of the stream. Weird, isn't it?

It's not really a superstition, but after handling any rubbish I wash my hands. I also hold my breath when opening any bin or generally when handling biological waste. I also make an effort not to breathe through my mouth or touch my face on public transport, while in the city or while in any bathroom.

I'm not really OCD, more of a germophobe. I'd say it's payed off thus far as I haven't been sick in around half a year so far...

Nothing wrong with washing your hands! :P

I wash my hands after I touch anything that doesn't seem clean. Garbage, oil, blah blah blah. Your hands interact with so much, you shouldn't have germs all over them constantly. :P I think my washing stems from how much I touch my face and stuff. Don't want to rub bacteria all over my skin...Not good.

After blading for six years, I've touched and fallen in so much skudge that has accumulated in most skateparks and bowls and not washed my hands later, to the points where few things make me compelled to immediately wash me hands.

I used to skate myself. It does get pretty cruddy around parks. I'd only wash my hands if I got something sticky on them or something. Lots of morons spilled pop and stuff all over the top of the ramps...Bleh.
