I'm Shocktart787 (named after the candy... swoot!) and I've been playing Runescape since approximately June 2004. With regards to Runescape, I like to consider myself a well-rounded player. I see the purpose/benefit in all skills and usually work to train them all equally. I don't really have a favorite skill, it all depends on my goals and my mood at the time, but my proudest accomplishment thus far was becoming the 679th person to achieve 99 thieving on January 8th, 2007. I've been with my clan The Death Monkeighs (TDM) since April 22, 2005 and anticipate being there for as long as my Runescape career continues. About this thread: This thread will be a constant record of my journey through Runescape. As I scamper about doing my daily playing, I will post here with anything that is noteworthy. The most recent achievements will be noted in the topic title. I will also indicate what I am currently doing in game, any short term goals, and a few long term goals. The purpose of this thread is mainly so I can watch my own progress, but I hope that you will also enjoy the journey with me. I will do this solely by training slayer (I refuse to be a PC noob :P). By the time I reach 99 defense, I will naturally obtain 94 hitpoints, 85 (probably 86) slayer, and combat 115. I am 24 years old, married, and have a full time job as a computer programmer. Allow me to pause for a moment to say that no, I am not too old to play this game. And no, I do not "have no life" and thus spend all my time in Runescape. I have a life, a family, friends, and a job outside of the game that I take great pride in and they always come firstÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ but even us "old folks" need hobbies in our lives. Runescape is my hobby. That said, I will continue. :-) My husband and I were married in May 2004 and currently live in Ohio. As of now we don't have any kids but hope that they will be a part of our lives in the future. In addition to Runescape, I enjoy singing and volunteering at our church. We are thrilled to be a part of one of America's fastest growing churches, CedarCreek. I also love to go camping with my family! My favorite TV shows include Lost, Amazing Race, Biggest Loser, CSI (Las Vegas), and Survivor. [/hide] The Pixelated Shocktart787: [hide=Learn more about my pixels...] My pixelated version came to life around June '04 after I found my husband (Milkboy31ÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ also shown in the picture above) involved in the game world. The name "Shocktart" originated as a nickname given to me by one of my husband's friends. The nickname didn't stick, but the Runescape character has lived on. As I stated in the intro section, I'm a well rounded player. At some point I decided to train all my stats to 60+, then 65+, then 70+, and so on and so on. Shocktart currently has all stats at level 80 or higher. I played solo (with the exception of my husband and a small handful of real life friends) for most of my first year playing the game. In April '05 I began to get curious about the clan world and eventually Milkboy and myself both joined The Death Monkeighs. We loved the family-friendly atmosphere and quickly adapted to what it was like to play the game as part of a community. I became a leader in TDM and stayed in that role for nearly a year before deciding to step down to a less strenuous role with the clan. Currently I am involved there as the High Councilor of Recruiting and as a Global Moderator. In addition to TDM, I help lead a small clan of adult women who all play Runescape and have made some wonderful friends there as well. On August 6th, 2006, Shocktart was invited to become a player moderator for the game. That had been a long-time desire of mine and it has been a pleasure to serve the gaming community in this way. There isn't really much else to say about my pixels. I often have her running around the Runescape globe training various skills or doing events with clans. I'm getting very close to 94 defense & 1950 total, but likely won't get there until tomorrow (church group at our house on Wednesdays, so not much 'Scaping time). In the meantime I've updated the first post with my progress as well as recent clues. Sadly, it seems like it's been AGES since I got something decent from a clue. I'm getting loaded up on rune axes and pickaxes, though. :-P I'm starting to get discouraged. May 22, 200719 yr Author Yesterday I decided to take a small break from slaying and start working on getting a rune defender (one of my "other" goals). I fought my own rune armor over and over again until I had amassed around 600 tokens. Then I headed up to the top floor to see how far I could get in the cyclops room. I only had about 30 minutes left of play time for the evening, but wanted to get started anyway. I finished last night with a steel defender and around 300 tokens. I'd love to move up a few more defender levels before going for more tokens, but I guess we'll see. The other ones just don't have that.."something" that Vegas has Only 3 hours for a rune defender! That's pretty good. I've heard horror stories of taking up to 10 hours for one :ohnoes: I'm at about 5 hours with an Addy Defender to my name. Good luck :thumbsup:

I was amazed that I got it that quickly! May 25, 200719 yr Author No levels yesterday, but did get a sort of lucky streak. I have an unwritten goal (which I really should write down one of these days) to fill my costume room completely. Dunno if it'll ever happen, but I'm at least gonna try. :P So anyway, I don't have black/red mystic yet and am hoping to get a set over the course of my slayer training. I got the boots a few days ago, then today got lucky with a top at the gargoyles! I was quite pleased. Then I traded 2 of my teeth half keys (had 5 of them :P) for two loops so I could go get some more dstones.
