From what I understand about mods, your idea of what a mod is is wrong.

From what I've read about player mods in the knowledge base and stuff, they're basically a more efficient means of dealing with normal reports.

Good reporters + Good reports seen first = Faster reporting system

In other words, I don't see a point in making mods undercover. If they want to do that, they can just not talk, but they're under NO OBLIGATION TO TRACK DOWN IDIOT RULEBREAKERS.

So I don't see the point in this, basically.

They do get there reports taken more seriously but all i have writen in the article has been backed up and edited by mltiple mods. :D Even though none talk of the mod center because i is confidential, they do say that they have been provided the nessary tool needed to do there responsibilties. :D

Something like this?

Wouldn't work, if they're hidden they wouldn't have a crown. :wall:

Yes, I do know I'm not ranked in any REAL skills.

If a pmod really wanted to stay hidden, they just wouldn't say anything. ::'

i support this.. i support both suggestions because they make a lot of sense.. i think it is a great idea and should be enforced because i see many rule breakers every day. ---Kaitlyn2

what if a mod wanted to catch a suspected scammer though? they would have to show their crown through trade.. that is where the on or off crown thing would be handy.. and also mods interact with other players too.. they dont have to just sit there and be quiet

Exactly this is where a crown would come in handy. Lets say for example. There is a bug. A hidden mod would turn his crown on to warn people. Thats why a crown would be an improvment. =D

mods can go invisible so players cant notice them on screen

thats what slims done to me

:-s ....no they can't....

Anyways, the problem with this idea, as many have said, would be people claiming to be mods when they're not and immature mods who abuse their powers.

Also, whoever said mod crowns show in trade, as far as I know that's not true.

taking a break

Ok, so what happens when somebody thinks a scammer is a mod with his crown off because he said he is. Then what? You get 10000 reports about fake mods stealing things.

Mods get annoyed with people, but they really shouldn't. People look to them for help, they just need to say "No, I can't help". If you wanna sell something, just look for somebody buying it, no need to talk.

Real mods being reported as posers. A mod forgets to turn his crown on. People say he's posing because he claims to be a mod. That's just a waste of Jagex's time.

If people behave because a mod is present, then good, they're behaving. If secret mods sneak up on people, then the bad behavior will be exhibited even more.

You're welcome for me tearing your idea apart. Oh, and by the way, I'm a mod.

i see what you mean. That would make for a dificult time. There could be a mod who uses his crown oly to sell stuff and nothing else.
