shadedragon
Im just guessing here, but since the phrase "any other number" can be used as a variable, then the variable could stand for 4. Sure, its a long variable, but it can still be used since a variable is some kind of symbol that represents a changing number. But im just guessing here, I bet my 9th grade math teacher could solve this in like 5 minutes, which for him is a stumper.

Beethovens29
4 can equal any other number bcuz since any other number, can be 4. Instead of thinking that 4 can equal any other number, then think of it as any other number can equal 4, in wich that other number would be 4. It's like an equation 4=x(other number) each equation can be flipped as long as u switch the signs. so 4=x, then -x=-4. Than if this is so, the absolute value results in 4. Proving 4 can equal any other number. or acutaually, it makes more sense the other way around.
