A 1k improvement on my score on monsoon moves me up to 2nd. Still 2k points behind 1st, no idea where he's getting those points, although a squeeze in the last activation could be an additional 1200 points (2 3 note chords) and doing the same in the activation before that would be an addtional 800.. so I guess that's where those 2k points are. ARGH!

I haven't even tried squeezing at all yet, and I wanted to get a 1st on a song :( Oh well 2nd will do for now.

So, I think I'm going to head to a local plaza with a few 24 hour stores and try my luck at midnight. The one I have in mind I managed to get Deathly Hallows at without a preorder and at about 11 in the morning, so I don't think I should have a problem. I'm probably going to end up breaking the curfew for teen drivers, but the risk is totally worth it.

If I somehow don't get it there, I'll hit all the other stores as they open.

Yeah, I have a plan.

My Explorer won't downstrum, and at menus when the Explorer is pugged in, it goes down the menu fast (Like if you were to hold the strum bar down).

How the [bleep] do I fix it?!

It all started when I put a rubber band on the green fret to attempt the TTFAF intro..

Band play on world tour is rubbish, fret board just doesn't seem big enough and you can only see a note or two ahead. This was with just a guitarist and bassist, assume it gets worse with a drummer and singer too.

Rock Band have it right, just seems I'll be playing this for the guitar parts once again and just ignore the co-op features.

Ugh, I don't even know if I even want World Tour now. The guitar is easy, co-op sucks, the only thing thing left is singing and drums. And singing is my least favorite thing to do, so the drumming better be good.

I have issues with GH3's two-player fretboard being too short. I guess I'll have to get used to it.

Of course, that could also arise from being used to playing on a huge flat screen all for my one fretboard.

Here are the pics of my guitar, and more!

[hide=]The red button to the left of the strum bar is Back (for star power), the black buttons below the Back are Start and Guide. The little ones, the black ones are left/right (for Rock Band practice speeds), and the red one is a killswitch. The normal Start/Select buttons are just there for looks, they don't even press down.

SSPX2802.jpg[/hide]

[hide=]I colored the frets with black sharpie, but it started to rub off so I taped them for easier sliding and no more sharpie rubbing off. It looks pretty cool now because its kind of faded.

SSPX2805.jpg[/hide]

[hide=]From left to right the things on the side are: Pedal jack for Star Power pedal (I can just plug in my Rock Band drums pedal), strap peg, wire, headphone jack.

SSPX2803.jpg[/hide]

Now I finally figured out how to play... *special* games on my Wii.

They were all sightreads, except for Jordan because I failed the other two times

I think the fact that you passed Jordan on your third try is proof that GH3 is sooo much easier than GH1&2, not matter what the chart.

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

Well everything outside Solo B is easily passable, and I knew it was coming so I just saved my star power. But ya, it's because of how large the timing window is for [garden tool]/POs that it's so much easier.

When I was playing Institutionalized, there was a glitch in the chart where it gave me GY chords, but the Y was a hammer on, and the green wasn't. I couldn't figure out how to hit them

Got it. Epic win.

Going to bed now since I have to be up at six, but I opened it at least. The guitar is sexy as hell.

Wait until you play it. On scorehero the Hardware section is filled with posts about how the touchpad is faulty and the drums suck. In Misc GH Discussion, its filled with glitches and rants about the bad interface.

I'm going to hold off on buying it for now.

Interface is horrid, it's impossible to see anything outside of the fret board, the note streak thing that comes up every 100 is also impossible to see so that's hard to keep track of.

The people that approved this have no clue :s

Yeah, my guitar is overstrumming like hell :? I've failed a song by just sitting there wating for it to start while the damn strum bar clicks away. I can get to work temporarily, but it keeps coming back.

Other than that, though, I've found no issue with the hardware. The drums are fine and fun to play, though since I've only played RB drums like once I'm on medium. For now.

Band play is frikkin impossible though. Darkdude is right, even on just hyperspeed 1 it's impossible to see the notes until they're right in your face. I failed on No Sleep Till Brooklyn. I guess I'll have to go back to regular speed and see if that makes it any easier. It probably will.

Gripes aside, I'm having fun with it. I've already FC'ed Today and What I've Done (never have to play that song again!) and haven't missed a five star yet. While the song list isn't the strongest, I haven't run into one that I dislike besides What I've Done. The slide sections are cool, though I've been playing them on the regular frets since I'm not used to switching to the touchpad. So I can't offer an opinion about that feature yet. The other ones, like multiple sustains and stuff, are nifty and not hard to get used to.

How are the open notes on Bass? Are they hard to get used to?

Haven't tried bass or singing yet lol. I'm hesitant to sing in front of my family. I'll save that for tomorrow.

I think I'll go check that bass out . . .
