July 3, 200719 yr I love quests, the longer/harder the better IMO, and have a quest cape, and look forward to the new quest every month more than other updates. I see people showing off on the forums all the time about how little quest points they have and how they dont like quests. These people must find it annoying that many areas, equipment and abilities can only be accessed after quests. I think jagex probably puts the most effort into the quest updates compared to other updates and it shows Should jagex take away the advantages of players who do quests? Your thoughts?
July 3, 200719 yr There's plenty you can do without quests and there's always little benefits (and some big ones) you can get for doing them. I generally hate quests but if it's something like desert treasure, yes, I'll do it. To answer your question though, no.
July 3, 200719 yr Hmmm... Why should JaGeX take away the advantages players get if they've gotten the quest requirements, taken the time, gotten all the items and done the quest itself? Quests are a part of RS, as much as skills, combat or anything else for that matter. If people don't like them, then they have to live with that. But if they want the rewards or the benefits recieved on completion, then they really have no choice, do they :? ? ^ Refresh for a new signature ^
July 3, 200719 yr Quests are one of the main reasons I continue to play runescape. I like that there are certain areas that you can't get to with out doing quests. And if they ever release a quest that I don't have the stats to do strait away then It gives me a goal that I make my top priority. So to answer your question, no I wouldn't have it any other way, in fact I would like more things to be quest dependent.
July 3, 200719 yr I also have gotten the quest cape, and I enjoy doing quests, well longer ones anyway. I like the elf lands and such that have come from beating quests, and I like the special areas where onlythose good enoguh to beat quests can get to. I would like them to add new areas from quests because I belive they are a lot more unique when they have some story bhind them. Rofl. My chair has a fridge, a cooler, a toilet, a shower, and a barbecue bulit in.Hey, I may have quite Runescape, but I just bought an XBOX 360 and play way to much COD4 with the Gamertag Lava Mage
July 3, 200719 yr Author this post is a bit pointless sorry, it turns out i was mistaken and everyone loves quests. btw lavaownz i found your herblore guide very helpful and i used it extensively recently, but it would be much more effective if you could bold all the titles for second ingredients etc.
July 3, 200719 yr Some of my best memories from this game are not gaining levels in skills or combat, but from quests. What a great feeling completing ME2, DT, RFD etc. I loved My Arm's Big Adventure - so funny. I know these quests are generally aimed at less than higher level players. Sometimes they are merely an excuse to introduce a new, but somewhat mediocre idea. However, if you look at the game as a whole, it's really a story about your character and its involvement with everyone in RS. So it's absolutely right that you should have areas, weapons, devices, magics and skills that can't be accessed without doing a quest or three. : Don't follow me. You might not make it.All your accounts are belong to us now.If this were a dictatorship, it'd be a heck of a lot easier, just so long as I'm the dictator
July 3, 200719 yr Some of the best lvling items and good items come from quests (Ancients etc.), the game does rely on it, its a big part of the game. Without the guides, they are good fun. (Not MEP2) :x Coming Soon
July 3, 200719 yr Well...I agree that the game relys on quests too heavily and it's not fair that people who hate quests (I like quests by the way) have to finish quests. Anything good enough requires quests : Ancient spell book. Lunar spell book (2 quests if you want all spells). Dragon scimmy. Dds. Cats. All amulets to speak to other NPCs (catspeak, camulet, ghostspeak, monkey...). Even go to Canifis requires a quest. Not to mention using many of the ways to get around the world (gnome glides, fairy rings ETC). Well , the list is long and people who want to have acces to places or abilities to use special equipment and don't like quests might hate this... But as for your question - I don't think it would be fair to take off the advantage of using quests... support new ghostly stuff here.I see RuneScape slowly turning into a sadistic version of WoW..signature your as this use backwards this read to enough smart were you If
July 3, 200719 yr I think Jagex should keep the quests. Myself I just know people who like new quests. I don't know anybody who think Jgex should remove the quests, the quests rewards or the quests areas, and I don't think so too. The quests are a big part of RS, and I personally started playing Rs much because of the quests. If I someday becomes member, the big amount of new quests has helped me to take that big step in RuneScape. So let's keep the quests in RS! Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
July 3, 200719 yr Not really, but i think you should put effort in something if you want it, in other words, if you want to gain acces to a certain new arena, do the quest for it. Some people dream of success, while others make it happen.
July 4, 200719 yr Hmmm... ? Exactly...
July 5, 200719 yr Not really in comparison to other games where quests are basically the entire thing. My Guide to Killing Green Dragon Autoers

July 5, 200719 yr I like to think of quests as the ultimate skill. To do a quest, normally reqires several skills to be trained to a certain point, than you, the human element must figure out how to use your skills and items available to compleate a puzzel. It's your skills (and brain) working together that compleates a quest, the only part of the game where lvling (gaining quets points) takes more than repeating a pre determined action. Quests are the only skill which relies on your own mental abilitys. Why should the people who either can't compleate, or can't be bothered to compleate a quest be rewarded the same as those who can and do? Sure, there are quests out there I can't do, but if I want the reward enough, i'll lvl the skill till I can complete the task. I should point out that I respect a quest cape many times more than a 99 cape simply because it shows the person is wiolling to train ALL there skills, and is willing (and capable) to think things through. A quest cape says more about a person than they are mindlessly dedicated to doing the exact same thing over and over and over. Don't get me wrong, a 99 is a big achivement, but the quest cape is the ultimate. And yes I do know they could have used guides, but i'll give them the benifit of the doubt. If they are willing to take the time to do all the quests, they proboly enjoy the chalenge and don't use guides, at leats not all the time.
July 5, 200719 yr How do u justify making new areas without making a quest for it so that you'll know the benefit for that place... -For example, the new quest gains access to the newer mithril dragons Right...
