adam_ross0
When did you stop playing? About..march of this year. Why did you stop playing? 1. it got boring. 2. Jagex's increasingly bad customer service discouraged me in a time of need. 3. There was nothing for me to do besides constantly grind levels. Do you still keep up with the updates? Sometimes. I don't check weekly..sometime's I'll pop in to see what grandaddy Jagex gave them. Do you still log on occasionally? I sold my account a long time ago :P How has your life changed? I'm not an addict of it now..and I'm not constantly bored when I'm not on it. What do you do on the computer now? Play other MMOs..games..whatever I feel like Are there moments when you want to start playing runescape again? I've had a couple of them.
Brandon_7
When did you stop playing? - About 2 weeks ago, I think. Don't remember really. Why did you stop playing? - Simply tired of playing, I've been playing since 2004. Do you still keep up with the updates? - Yes, I read them. Do you still log on occasionally? - Yes, just to see who's playing How has your life changed? - It hasn't really, I only really played when I wasn't working or doing something else anyway. What do you do on the computer now? - Listen to music and browse this forum and other forums. Are there moments when you want to start playing RuneScape again? - No, hell no. Defender2516
When did you stop playing? About 6 months ago I think.. Why did you stop playing? It got boring. I mean there was good updates time after time, but I constantly felt friendless. My internet friends rarely played, it was me competiting with their goals, that kept my own up. Even when I was solo it was just so boring and stupid doing the same thing over and over for no reason. Everytime you tried to show off, some other higher level would always come by and ruin it. The experience barriers between 80 and 99 was far to high. For example, I calculated that I would have to spend 2 months, 12 hours a day just to get 99 agility at my current level, 81. Talk about a waste of time and life.. Do you still keep up with the updates? Yeah I do, Jagex has some GREAT updates.. but now I feel I could never catch up.. not to mention I ask myself, what would I be going back to? The endless grind, no fun, and no friends? No thanks.. Do you still log on occasionally? Once in a blue moon but I log out after a few minutes more.. F2P is like 5 years behind Membership.. How has your life changed? It hasn't really.. because I just went to other games :XD: But I can say that i'm glad I moved on. I would hate to say I was the depressed little nut that stayed with Runescape for 20 years.. lol. What do you do on the computer now? Play other MMO's.. like RF Online. Are there moments when you want to start playing runescape again? I do, but only if I have my friends. I see so many people with guilds that go off and do things together.. but usually my schedule is limited so I just stay solo.. ~Defender~ If you love me, send me a PM. 8 - Love me2 - Hate me
ThurinEthir
I've temporarily quit, and that quitting may be permanent, although I do something fun with my friends once in a while. When did you stop playing? The last time I did something big was in late February 2007. I did a bunch of quests. Then I did my little Persian Wars fakes (Link in my sig). I did some hunting a few weeks ago, then went PKing with my friends. Why did you stop playing? I don't know. I guess a few reasons. A month before, I had reacher 70 mining. For anyone who's done that, you know it's boring. And somehow, the PW fakes made me lose interest in the game. Not to mention the community was getting bad, prices were getting terrible and updates weren't great. Do you still keep up with the updates? Yep, I check the site everyday. Anything new, I read it. But I usually don't try it out. Do you still log on occasionally? Yep. Like I mentioned, I do fun things with friends. We did this hunting massacre and PK trip a few weeks ago. And then, a few weeks from now, there's a few things I want to do. How has your life changed? Well...It's been better and worse. I miss the days when RuneScape was plain fun, but for some reason, I don't find it as fun anymore. But quitting RuneScape has given me more time for other games. What do you do on the computer now? Er...Anything. After I quit, I played a mix of SilkRoad Online, GunZ, 9Dragons and random online games. I also spend more time on Tribal Wars and TIF. Are there moments when you want to start playing runescape again? Yep. Once in a while, I'll be interested in an update. And there are also times when I'm bored (It's vacation, what's new?) and RuneScape is the only thing that comes to mind. Why I don't log on that much is a mystery to me. oldstyle
Good thread. When did you stop playing? a month ago Why did you stop playing? because after working slayer skills and other skills I felt screwed. Cut my losses at six hours and the price fix plumiting the bows to four mil in hours with few drops. I downloaded wow. best thing I ever did. Do you still keep up with the updates? still have a few days of members, yes I logged in to kill a mith drag. still haven't imp hunted and don't plan on it. Do you still log on occasionally? yes, I have friends there, and I figure i'll member every few months to catch up quests and work slayer some, as well as keep prayer rank. How has your life changed? I'm happier, I find my online time less pissed at the way jagex has developed a game i've played and enjoyed for years, well till about the time pc came out... What do you do on the computer now? same as always, keep up with the news, and no not faux news. read the bbc, google headlines, truthout.org slashdot.org post on some forums, game, maintain my site, and email. Are there moments when you want to start playing runescape again? If they could wave a magic wand over it and fix the damage that they have done in my eyes, yes, but sadly they are outdated, and scratching for the youngest players, and offering some of the cheesiest updates i've ever seen, toss in the fact that they said that there would be no more drag armor updates... and went back on that, I think jagex doesn't know what they are doing. I have heard from some long term players that two years ago there was a break in the ranks there, and sumt tells me that is true. quest lines have been abandoned and what the game is morphed horribly, if I cared about graphics I never would have played rs. sorry for the negativity, but I am hoping that someone with a bit of influnce over there in london reads this, and i'm sure that they do, its not just me. perhaps the business model has shifted, as java is quite limited, and quickly loosing ground to other platforms for gaming. but I played it as it was and would love to return, but for now. hiya WoW. http://rsdo.net/sigs/users/s/sharkeater75.png126 combat. 2001 total. 101 prayer. and off to go WoWin. WHEEE NO MORE RANDOMS!!!! -.-
zubeedoo
When did you stop playing? Roughly 10 months ago Why did you stop playing? 2 reasons: My clan died, and the one that rose from its ashes died as well (both died at the whim of their owners, much to my annoyance) I found EvE-online  Do you still keep up with the updates? Only the holiday ones Do you still log on occasionally? I logged in today, and decided to see how long it would take me to get full guthix starting with a steel pickaxe =P How has your life changed? RS took up pretty much all of my free time, now I alternate between several games. What do you do on the computer now? Eve online, anarchy online, watching anime on dailymotion (just finished death note) Are there moments when you want to start playing runescape again? Had one earlier today :P Quit runescape, now playing EVE-Online(Mail Cambarus and say hi  )
Knite
When did you stop playing? I'm quitting and starting again like every 6 months.. 6 Months of playing and then another 6 months without runescape. Why did you stop playing? I just get bored at times to runescape and it's not sucha majour thing in my life that i would feel addicted to it. I play the game, because its good way to kill time when your bored :) Do you still keep up with the updates? When i don't play runescape active i hardly visit the website. Do you still log on occasionally? Sometimes, if i have thoughts of coming back. How has your life changed? I don't see my life changed anyhow, but probably stay more at my house then i normally do if i train for something. What do you do on the computer now? Read F1 News (GO KIMI, GO) Are there moments when you want to start playing runescape again? Like i said.. Every 6 months :D Very good topic, BUMP IT! Bubsa
When did you stop playing? About a year, to 18 months ago. I logged in sporadically up until 6 months ago, but it wasn't to play. Why did you stop playing? The game got so boring - it's hardly playing if you click, watch/browse. Plus the community is awful. Do you still keep up with the updates? I used to until it got really farfetched. Do you still log on occasionally? Not anymore - I did to give stuff away, be in a screenie, <3 the OoC and all that jazz. How has your life changed? ...Hardly at all? It's a game. What do you do on the computer now? I still browse forums, play games, download pr0n, the usual stuff. Are there moments when you want to start playing runescape again Not a chance - it's totally gone to hell. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. pulli23
though no longer retired (started playing again this week) - though I am in no way playing as much as I used to anymore (only like 10-15 mins a day now..) When did you stop playing? well only a few weeks ago, shortly after the "third party update" happened.. Why did you stop playing? well a couple of factors, I was hacked by then (well twice, first time it my clan gave me back almost everything, even a little bit more maybe!), I still don't know how though, installed anti virus/software cleaners for ̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¡Ãâì150,- yet nothing found. But I wouldn't quit for that stupid small reason, I still had my stats and I would be able to get everything back! No instead I stopped mainly for the reason I think JAGEX is going the wrong way! instead of helping us programmers creating "fan programs"/third party programs it started restricting it! I still hope runescape would ever implement a macro system like in wow (I don't play that, but I do have written a dozen macroes for it!). Or even being able to create our own interface - I for example like it to have my inventory on the top within a dropdown menu.. And I would be able to create it if jagex did allow it and told us programmers how the data works! thirdly I was thinking that runescape became to repetitive. Skills aren't skills! - you only need to be able to click something over and over again. No skill or thinking is required in runescape! I hope runescape gets more "skill" parts at which it's difficult to beat the game! Do you still keep up with the updates? yeah I hope to see an update which helps us programmers 1 day Do you still log on occasionally? every day about 10-15 minuts How has your life changed? Well I started working on a game.. Got even more addicted to programming and am no-lifing now to finish my game (which I might start selling - I still love the idea of earning my living by indie programming). What do you do on the computer now? programming, playing (creating mods) for UT/WC III Are there moments when you want to start playing runescape again? yup just "started".. EDIT: to the reply above, JAVA is one of the least limited programming languages! - The only limit is that runescape wants the game to be played through a browser which makes it processing wise very bad! First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me.
