Runescape Challenging Again?

First thinkgs first, im not saying that runescape isn't challenging as it was, but I have heard several rants about jagex ignoring the high levels needs.

 

Due to recent updates, I think I can come to a safe conclusion.

 

 

 

Jagex is making the game more advanced, challenging, and rewarding.

 

 

 

First, we get the achievement diary that requires 100 combat and 50 slayer just to complete.

 

 

 

Then we get the dragonfire shield. It BLOWS all the other shield OUT OF THE WATER. 75 def requirment, worth 800k to a gerneral store, ect.

 

Not only that, it requires you to chase some the the hardest mosters to kill in the game. Hence, a challenge. You got to have prayer, high mele stats, good equipment, ect. That or alot of expensive runes.

 

 

 

Then we get the dragon full helm. Not only that, mith dragons we have to kill. I can't think of a harder monster to kill that isn't in the fight caves. I can litterly only kill 2 in a trip, if im lucky.

 

 

 

Which brings me to my last point. It seems as if to reward high lvls with their hard work, jagex seems to be comming out with the ultimate set. Dragonfire shield (instead of dragon kite) Dragon med helm, what next? Dragon pl8?

 

 

 

Also, i think that there are some ever harder and more challenging beast to come, where these new armour pieces are assential for the high lvl to survive.

Ya this to me just appears to be a sudden splurge by jagex to add more tough stuff to the game. It will subside in a few weeks.

but anyway, only a very small fraction of runescape has the liberty to say that the game is easy. Do you have a fire cape? all 3rd age sets? all quests? total lvl over 2000? phat set? completed all diaries? killed all champions? if not then don't say anything =;

That would be most unfortunate, cause as a mid lvl character, I would love to have something to work towards.

Exactly what i was getting at. When I mean hard, im not speaking about how hard it is to keep rcing nats to 99 or something, im talking about challenging to stay alive, or to get that 5th mith dragon in before your hp runs out.

 

 

 

There is room for both aspects of the game, and the kind im talking about has been neglected for far too long.

What does owning a phat or 3rd age have to do with being able to say you think the game's easy? Neither 3rd or party hats are useful at all, the only reason to own them is so you can look nice :roll: Not wanting to save up for useless items, and spending it on skills instead, means the game isn't easy?

 

 

 

As for the others you mentioned, the thread creator never said there aren't any hard things to do in the game, there are jus very few, which is true. It is very nice to see them adding some more. :D

Mabey I should clear things up.

 

 

 

Runescape is and always be challenging. Try getting 99 rcing. or 99 farming, its not gonna be easy.

 

Try getting 200m xp or making your cb stats.

 

How about making an awesome staking pure with really hard to get stats.

 

 

 

Yes, rs will always be challenging. But it sence it is a turn based fighting game, it is sometimes hard to get a differnt kind of challeng.

 

 

 

That kind of challeng is kinda like the fight caves, but now you can lose your stuff if you die, with not garanted pay out at the end.

Jagex has spoiled the high level players for the last 2 months. The updates require alot of high standards that I haven't been able to complete the majority of them. I've killed about 20 Mithril drags and all I have gotten is a prayer mix, rune arrows, and the rest all COINS. -.- But you'll see me with my Dragon full when you're watching pigs racing through the sky. I don't think it's worth the hassle to go hunting for a Visage, it's rarer than a dragon drop, nuff said. I'd love to have the level 3 Karamja gloves but I don't fancy levelling my Cb to 100, so that was made for the high levels. The crossbow update has been my favourite this year, I hit a 50 on a mithril dragon before with ruby bolts, 83 prayer, unpotted and no prayer.

 

 

 

I think we'll see the decline of high level updates for a bit now. Jagex possibly indicated it's researching newby things with the recent poll, asking what you did when you were merely a neophyte. For now, however, I think I'll stick to the good old quest every month now, instead of going on frantic hunts for an over hyped helmet.

why do people think this? Jagex about 6 months ago were pressurizzed(sp) by many people to introduce high level content. how long about does it take to create things? about 6 months, Jagex started making this high level stuff ages ago but its only just being finished and introduced now

yes but the newbie updates will come in a bit and for the while just enjoy these high level updates to look forward to and make goals for. just because all of a sudden you dont have the best gear in the game isnt a bad thing. its a good thing

I didn't know that anyone can get a 3rd age set and a phat, i've been trying pretty hard so far and getting 99 fishing only got me half way to a 3rd age plate, i must really suck #-o

they should have made it harder by adding a slayer requirement or making it so that the final blow you have to use the hatza(?).a lot like using silverlight in the shadow of the storm quest.You jump highly in the air and deliver the final blow through its neck relesing the barbarians suls with it.now that wouldd be better

people think to complete runescape you have to have all those things...thats utter bull. Let's say I get 1 99. I've been playing 5 years, but because I have so much other stuff going on, i can not level like some of the maniacs that do. If 1 99 is my achievement, and I feel I have done my best, then to me, I have completed what I want to.

 

 

 

Also, just because you don't own a firecape, and 3rd age, and all that expensive stuff, doesn't mean the game is hard. The game is repetative. If you want to make loads of cash, you have to do the same thing over and over for hours to make a lot of money. Again, just because I don't feel like boring myself over a game I play for fun, doesn't mean that I can't say that I am good at the game. I have a general knowledge and when anything comes out, I usually know what I have to do(like defeat mithril dragons).
