i have p chat on all the time, but rarely get spammed by beggars, and yes i am rich and worth begging btw, but most is begged on public chat anyway :S.

honestly, who begs you in private? seriously? that is a bad example. perhaps the worst example i have heard for my experience in this game, of course when my Pchat is on i get random people talking to me i dont remember/ dont want to talk to but hey... whatever.

Ever had house parties? I always get people begging for me to buy them armor or give them free stuff, or use my house again. It gets annoying so once i turn it on I usually have to turn it right back off.

Again, another "the community's going downhill" thread. It's not going downhill, it's just your perspective. You notice two incidents so to you suddenly it seems like things have drastically changed. But really there have always been scammers, beggers, etc. While it's true there are more now, that's only because there are more people playing. The percentage of players who do that stuff is probably always the same, but with a larger population, it seems like there's more of those kind of people. I could go on and on explaining this, but I've written on it before here if you want to read something longer.

 

 

 

I agree with you to some extend. I feel the ratio of scammers to normal players has actually gotten better. But I find it harder and harder to find nice players. You are correct in your article about people maturing over time and thus disliking the younger players more and more, but it's not just the immature players I'm talking about. I just find it harder these days to find nice players, to me it seems the amount of nice players has only grown a small bit while the total population has gone up by a huge amount.

At my low level i rarely get people begging, although on the rare occasion i do i just politely tell them that when i was their level i never begged and look where i am now. If the persist ignore list is always good. On a similar note, i've noticed that when you decline a trade because the other player's offer is too low they will shoot you down with comments such as: "omg noob it's only 50k lol" & "your really sad nolyfer". It just goes to show that most of the runescape population are just basically not nice people.

That kind of begging has ALWAYS been in RS. It's not anything recent.

Now that i'm getting close to my smithing skill cape i'm very afraid my private chat will go friends and my public to friends also also i'm afraid to wear it because "fr33 r00n pl0x" .But i'll do the emote anytime i love the skill the cape and the emote so i'll do it nvr declining somone.

 

Is this a thread to show off or a thread to discuss the declining of Runescape's community? Everywhere you go you talk about your money, your current Smithing, or your soon to be Smithing level.

 

 

 

On topic: I haven't noticed any decline. People will always beg, people will always scam, and people will always be lazy. At one point or another the beggars leave or turn into productive members of Runescape, the scammers will get banned or get bored with their ill-begotten wealth and lose it all to an honest player, and the lazy will do what the beggars will do.

Everyone is killing this game especially the autoer i meen I don't see jagex banning any f2p macros i've seen the same ones in the same spot for months.

 

Lol a foreseen problem with the smithing cape, I seen others get those before. I really don't see a point to wear rares. High risk of losing it to randoms and you get the attention you don't want.

most annoying is when you are trying to sell something. i was selling law runes. 400each, quite cheap i thought to myself. some guy came up to me and wanted 100 laws for 3k. i wanted to report him, but on what grounds, being annoying? there should be a button which instantly expels beggers from the game.

People are stupid, Ive learned to live with it... The only problem is my Ignore List is now absolutely full

 

 

 

I forget who it was, but somebody figured out that the amount of scammers, autoers, morons and noobs in RS has increased 1200% since 2004. Thats a lot of people to put on your Ignore List.
