Would you do this?

Quite simply, Jagex should go to hell with the weekly updates... That's right, just dump the crappy, weekly, updates because they simply are full of crap! C'mon, who in their right mind wants to have two quests a month that each last around half an hour, that build nothing onto the existing plot and storyline?

Jagex should only occasionally release updates, in terms of maybe biweekly, or even every three weeks, and have each update well thought out, and great in terms of quality. Most of our recent updates have been pathetic, since Jagex continues to release weekly updates, and fails to realize that Quality>Quantity. And until they do so, this game will continue on a downward spiral.

<3: Love that post. <3:

It's true. In my opinion, the low-substance quests are to appease the Miniclip-referred crowd with attention spans equal in minutes to their age in years. JaGeX, as companies could be expected to, has become all about the money.

They have terrible foresight though, because they don't realize that they are driving away the longtime players and sensible paying members to try to get the Miniclip and Mofunzone crowds to pay for members. I'm sad to say though, if they looked at it as a Fortume 500 company and not as a company that cares for its longtime customers, it's all profit. I'm sure there's more senseless players from aforementioned partners than there are sensible players from RuneScape's actual site.

You wouldn't believe how many people think RuneScape was made by Miniclip. :ohnoes:

I for one know one of them. :wall: Luckily I managed to teach him to move away from his Miniclip-related wrongdoings and showed him the official RS website. Unfortuanely I haven't heard from him in 2 years, so I dont know wether he's re-converted or has kept his homepage on http://www.runescape.com.

And with the updates, I wouldn't go for a massive update after a year, and neither would Jagex as memberships would plummet, and so the update would end up being so-so because of finacial problems.

I would go for monthly or bi-monthly updates though. Let's be honest, usually updates (such as the upcoming Godwars dungeon) which end up taking two weeks end up being awesome, so I think that monthly would result in some pretty good updates. Of course, Jagex at their size can do multiple things at once, so how about they split into the monthly update section, the bi monthly section and the half year section.

Then we would get updates in this pattern:

Month 1: Single update.

Month 2: Two updates, the second being larger.

Month 3: Single update.

Month 4: Two updates, the second being larger.

Month 5: Single update.

Month 6: Three updates, first single, second larger update, third HUGE update.

And repeat. I would like this.

If anything, jagex needs to update their customer support.

I would go without updates for a year to have real people answer my appeals instead of a [developmentally delayed]ed bot that uses the magic 8 ball to decide.

Signs point to yes.

Sincerely, Altizzle

PS: The game is fine right now, but customer support blows.

Well, I'm a non-member, so I know what its like to not have updates every week. And I think I can say that if I were a member I would give up weekly updates, but probably not for something like RS3, I think better updates monthly or bi-monthly would be the best.

  • 1 month later...

excuse the language  but i don't think jagex has enough balls to risk that.

sure its a really good idea but too many people are getting bored with runescape, yet, they mindlessly play it hoping that something cool will happen. maybe jsut have monthly updates instead of weekly so once a month they get something good

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

I would personally suggest that Jagex simply scale down their updates to once every monthy, This would make me happy, as I would still get y content upgrades every month, and would make me even happier in the long run, with RS3. I remember a poll about something like this, where Jagex suggested scaling back their updates to twice a month in order to put bigger updates out. It was voted down by a landslide, if I remember correctly. However, I realize this thread isn't about populace reactions, it's bout personal. So I'll tell you again, once amonth would be fine. After that I start to get bored.

I wouldn't, even if I was a member. Due to the large amount of players with lower end computers (like me), all of them won't be able to play anymore. I don't want it to be like World of Warcraft (1 gigabyte of RAM recommended...)

I wouldn't.

We don't need an RS3. Sure you say it would get rid of macros but we can do that too just report them. We realy don't need it at all. Theres only 25 people maxed the game and they still havn't gotten everything done. Also we don't need to have better graphics because we'll turn into another WOW game.

We're fine as we are.
