One asked if i could be bait for them, gave me a rune med and chain, and food, and said to one item with whip. One of them showed me loot they had "obtained". Almost 20 whips, 4 santas, infinity boots, and other expensive items. We went thru ardy lever, and a lvl 84 was being all noobish. We all piled him. I got skulled and soon died... now i know that the 84 was part of the plot :shock: So i lost my whip... back to my trusty scim... Hope i can help though with anyone who is about to fall for it! I was selling mith bolts and this dude pms me saying he'll buy 1 mil worth. He then asks me where the spirit tree by varrock is. I say its kinda south of wildy. Then pfft, he tells me to meet him there. I can't believe I actually went to the spirit tree, but then there was the giveaway. "O im north, by the glitched tree. North of ditch :X" Didn't fall for it of course, im sure some sucker could though. The guy was a lvl 55 range/mage pure, he then apologized and said he lost 43 mil to a hacker. Anyone ever come across these people post-ditch update? Nice, I know some people that would have fallen for that. A guy tells me to go to edge bank so i go nothing wrong with that. Then he says come to the Monestary figuring i would walk pover ditch and back over to get to it but i didn't i walked back to Barbarian village and back around. So i kinda ruined his plan them he tells me to jump ditch and trade him because he's cutting logs. I'm like -.- "wow dude thats a lure pfft! noob!" He says how shallow are you i guess you don't wanna trade fine noob!" I was about to die laughing when his bud lvl 88 with 94 mage comes and out of hiding and says "hey dude did he come yet i wanan barrage the noob, You split 50/50 right?" So i get ice blitzed and the guy with ahrims comes up to dds me. He hit 0-0 all the time and i said to him that he sucked. His excuse was "Well ur in rune". Honestly... WTF!?! If you lure by scamming, lying or deceiving someone BEFORE they enter the ditch, IN ORDER FOR THEM to enter it, then you are breaking the rules. If you deceive someone AFTER they entered the ditch on their own free will, then it's fine, because they are already in the wildy. So, if you lie and say to a merchant "ill buy your items north of ditch" and then PK them, you are breaking the rules (not that you'll get seriously punished anyways, but at least in theory). But if you meet someone already in the wildy for one reason or another, and, say, lure them further north or to a multicombat area, then it's fine. Someone already in the wildy should expect people to be able to interfere with their activities. Just like the other rule which says you may not make a game unenjoyable for someone else, well, heh, PKing someone is sure unenjoyable for them, but in the wildy it's legal. For the same reason, if you decide to report a lurer, it's important to do so BEFORE you actually entered the wildy. Because the only thing you can report someone for is lying to you while you are still safe. If you skip that part, get PKed, and then report the PK (with the lies part already past the 60-sec limit), then you don't have a case you can prove, because the PKing part isn't illegal, only the lying part. That part of the rule has covered luring ever since it was added. You may not convince someone to enter the wild, under the impression that they are selling/buying something from you, then turn around and attack them. Luring is a rather pathetic act and the word "noobish" would suit it. This is due to the fact that luring often engages the luree to pk when it is not usually their wish to do so. It is a very scummy way to gain money or items, almost as bad as scamming. Every part of it is noobish. Now if this was in the wild and a pker wanted to encourage a fellow pker to come in their direction to get the smack down, then that is perfectly acceptable. ~Retired 13-July-2010~Thanks for the great memories folks :). rareghoul1 Posted July 13, 2007 Share Posted July 13, 2007 well, i was in the wildy wearing nothing and having only tele runes on me, i do that a lot watching fights, when this guy sees me and pms me. he said "some guy is trying to lure me, he wants to buy my whip and told me to come out here with nothing but it. so now i brought runes for 100 ice barrages and full ahrims. wanna come watch?" naturally that wasn't one pm, that was several. i replied saying "sure, why not." so i follow him to the area around the green dragons, and there's noone on my radar. so i pm him saying "where is he?" then he attacks me and says "it's me". i told him i have nothing and teled to falador. he was pissed. i don't know why he tried to lure me, i had nothing on. anyway that's my story. I wait and there before my eyes was a rune scimmy seeing as how i got tele runes to fally i said why not and cross the ditch i was not in wildy yet but instaed i just tele grab. :anxious: He and this full mystic start yealling at me and start calling me noob. then i dont know how but the mystic does a fire blast but i dont take damge then i cross the ditch and they follow me spamming me and calling me noob. then i just tele away to camelot Wongton is better than me in anyway~~ Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
