I suggest you don't start with poor outlines, then add colors and fill in the details as last step cause imo the final result is usualy a bit crappy this way.

 

 

 

I think you should make a basic outline just to find out how to set up your screen, then go for a deeper detail and at last, add the colors, first filling with the most common for that area, then refining it for shadows/highligths :)
