mininpure
Everyone by this time knows about the rapid inflation in runescape. Jagex has used many methods to reduce the amount of money through expensive skills like construction that cost loads of gp, and items that require a recharging like the crystal bow. But there is no real attempt to cut down on the money f2p users have. The f2p people who have loads of gp from merchanting and high-alching have absolutely no way to spend other than to make more money. This is going to become a bigger and bigger problem as runescape goes on. Jagex is going to keep creating items that members will buy from NPCs so the money will be gone from the game. The f2p players won't have as much to spend on, so effectively only a large chunk of the players will lose gp permanently. All the f2p players gp will build up, and the members gp will drop. As long as there is no way to spend a lot of gp to npc's, the economy will rise. So I propose some skill like construction for f2p to lower the amount of gp f2p players have. As long as it allows you to show off what you get and it marks you as a wealthy person, people will buy it. quoted from gibsocam:i think they will keep coming up with skills until they get to sleeping skill or something. ggkcl
i think thats a good idea, but one thing... if we get construction in f2p... im 100% sure we will NOT get POH in f2p if we get construction. and the next thread you will see is suggesting POH in f2p. mininpure
Oi, you're gonna get flamed... :XD: Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if i did. This is my opinion and some will agree, some will disagree. I just saw a problem and put what I thought the solution was. Anyone is welcome to put their own solution as long as it adresses the same problem.Of course, f2p wouldn't get ALL the stuff, just some of it. Also, it might help to make it so you could only buy the planks from the store or a member who makes them, so some of the gp dissapears with Jagex NPC's and members would get the rest of the plank market, and the members would then spend it on the stuff mentioned earlier. quoted from gibsocam:i think they will keep coming up with skills until they get to sleeping skill or something. Prankster_King
I understand your reasoning of putting a money drain in F2P. However, Construction is one of the main bonuses for P2P, so it's unlikely that any of it (no matter how big or small) will be converted. I could be wrong, though. None of us thought we'd get the Party Room. : I'd suggest some sort of minigame perhaps, that would be P2P and F2P. This minigame would require a hefty price to play/get items for. Not quite sure yet what kind of game it would be, but it's a basic idea you can work off of. :) [bleep], my parrot has better grammar than you.{Author of Tip.It Times article}{Founder of the F2P Bankspace Campaign}{Interviewed for the Gielinor Tribune}{F2P Bankspace was ACHIEVED!}
Retefael
I'm beginning to see why F2P never gets anything. F2P is basically a "demo" and at only $5 a month, switch to members. Even so, I don't think anything dramatic is going to happen to F2P anytime soon... I don't run races to see who's the fastest, I run to see who has the most guts. -PreCurrently the best beat out there:Minuit jacuzzi (DatA Remix) - TEPR
The Observer
I am F2P and I do not want Construction. Besides, most people don't have millions of coins anyway as those people are usually already members.

mchainmail
um... there's one runescape economy. Both f2pers and p2pers are in it. Construction drains money from p2p people, but it trickles down into f2pers.
NJE03
Ok instead of some sort of contruction to be a drain - which would result in a lot of members on official forums going berserk, what about some sort of item or something that can only be obtained by buying from a shop. One with a hefty price tag. Fudgepuppy
Oi, you're gonna get flamed... :XD: Good call. This would be a bad idea.. Adding to the effect of I don't remember who said it on another thread but its "Give them a penny and they'll want a dime" or something close to that.. If Jagex makes a construction skill for f2p then other f2pers will complain that much more that they don't have other member skills.. I do understand your reasoning but like killerred005 said most people that make that much money become members by then.. Bad Idea..

mininpure
you could give the extra money away...jk.... invest into crafting or smithing.. yah but the key word is "inevestment" in an investment you put money in and det more. so if you invest it, you will just have more $$$ quoted from gibsocam:i think they will keep coming up with skills until they get to sleeping skill or something. PastyGangsta
All F2P'ers should me their money so I can afford 99 Firemaking, Cooking, Construction, and a shiny White Phat. :D Jagex just needs to make some crazy awsome item that can ONLY be bought from a certain store, after you buy it becomes untradable. NJE03
What about a daily raffle that costs 1-10k per raffle ticket and rewards a winner with a moderately good, untradable, item? purfishx
F2P will, and i emphasize on will, NOT get POH. Maybe some rip-off of construction maybe introduced to F2P but we wont get POH. POHs are distinctively exclusive to P2P. Although it would be nice to have something like Carpentry seeing as the Sawmill is in F2P territory. We could make something like little Shacks but they wouldn't be nearly as big as POHs and should at least have a workshop and a kitchen. :) Sigs by: Soa | Gold_Tiger10 | Harrinator1 | Guthix121 | robo | Elmo | Thru | Yaff2 Avatars by: Lit0ua | Unoalexi | Gold Tiger . gibsocam
F2P don't need something like this because none of them are rich enough to pay for it, or have enough money to effect the economy. PS: wow, i have been quoted

Maybe have some sort of item that'll cost millions? They'd (F2P) like that as it some sorta sign for their wealth.
