Buying a Nintendo DS Lite...

Featured Replies

Well, my girlfriend's 17th is just around the corner and seeing as i'm working part time now, she's upped the stakes and has asked for a Nintendo DS Lite for her birthday. Bloody woman thinks i'm made of money! hahah.

Either way, i've agreed to get her one, on the condition that she gets brain training aswell, so I can play it, heh!

Can anyone recommend me any decent games for her? She's really into animals, but don't think she wants nintendogs because her little sister already has it. She was on about a game called animal hotel or something, it's probably way off title wise but you get the idea of what it is - so if anyone could ID that for me that'd be great :)

She definately wants pokemon diamond (on account of one of our friends already owning Pearl,) so that's one down, and shes quite the fan of the pokemon series so are any of the other games any good?

I'm looking at, as a whole list - (dont laugh, she likes animals, lol...)

Pokemon Diamond

Pokemon Ranger

Brain Training

Animal Crossing

Nintendogs Chihuaua & Friends

Pony Friends

As I say, the games are for my girlfriend so don't laugh at me for buying Pony Friends ;) hahah.

cheers!

Pokemon ranger, huh? I never actually played it, however it looks fun...

Mario Kart is awesome, great fun.

Of course, diamond and pearl is great fun as well.

Well, I suppose she doesn't like Final Fantasy? If she does, that's a great game...

Can't think of anything else she might like, however, all of the games you said are good for her.

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

Get a flashcart like me- R4 or M3. Basically, its a memory stick and you download roms onto it and they work perfectly. Its brilliant :D \:D/

Too bad it's illegal and is stealing.

Anyway, my suggestion is Mario Kart.

Oh, and have fun with that pony game :P . I'm just kidding

I'm not judging anybody, just stating an opinion based on what the poster posted.

its like, I don't have a problem with gift-giving, but expecting a freaking DS! Those things are really expensive.

and you know what will happen, eventually they will break up, and she will keep the DS, and he'll be out 200 bucks.

I wouldn't mind it so much if he was getting it for her cause he wanted to, but the fact that she expects one, it just kinda annoys me...

So what would you give your girlfriend if she asked for something?

"Happy birthday! I was too stingy to get you something nice, so i got you this coupon for a Macdonalds Happy meal, nd a bag of half eaten dog food!"

I'd say (of what I can think of atm):

Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

Animal Crossing

Nintendogs

Those are the three games that I own atm (Pokemon Diamond, not Pearl), and they are all great!!

Out of those three, Id say probably say Pokemon Diamond is the best.

I doubt I'd be dating her if she expected me to buy her expensive presents. Isn't each other enough?

If you read the original post, he said his girlfriend wanted, he never said she expected one.

He didn't have to agree to get one, but he did. You never know, for his birthday she may get him a DS or something else in that price range.

You think this is like a middle school relationship that lasts for less than a month. They could be pretty serious, but I'm sure that never crossed your mind.

Please sod off and stop polluting my ever so innocent topic with mindless dribble. FYI, she bought me a ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã100 phone and some other personal stuff for my birthday a few months back, so shes not using me, you trollop. I actually offered to buy it her after she dropped hints because she was saying she was trying to get her dad to buy her one. Hold on a sec, im going to stop explaining myself to someone on the internet now.

Thanks for all your suggestions everyone except dwarfdude3. Gonna buy it for her next week with pokemon diamond, brain training and some other game. Got a week to decide :)

Aye, I'd suggest getting a flashcart too. I have an R4 myself and it's great. For homebrew and watching movies of course.

Comicbook viewer on it and I've watched some movies too. Shame they take a while to convert. :(

Just Pokemon Diamond will probably keep her busy for quite a bit. I've been playing my version for a few months now. (NTSC version, before you ask).

dwmafianw7.jpg

Notoriously Trollish.

In my opinion, Don't get nintendogs or Animal Crossing.

I had them both, and they're great for 10 minutes, but they're so boring once you've had them for a month, and because you have to go on everyday it gets tiresome and wares thin.....

Get Pokemon Pearl instead of Diamond :P

Everyone has diamond :P (Including me, and i prefer the Pokemon Pearl Front cover pokemon =P~ )

Yeah but everyone has Dialga. Hardly anyone has Palkia...

I'd get Pearl

And Palkia makes better noises and looks better.
