I'm not known with the early stuff yet (From Her To Eternity excluded), but I guess that'll be not too bad either plus it's somewhat rougher, since he changed more to ballads (not your usual "baby, I love you so, I need you so" though) since The Good Son. Boatman's Call and Abattoir Blues are most easy to get into. Boatman all ballads, and abattoir blues is very diverse. I don't know, I don't listen to too much alternative rock, mostly indie (if you want different types of rock aside form alternative, I can help you out). If all else fails, Last FM is your friend.
