Mercifull, will you please debunk the aliens/ufo for me? I love hearing what people have to say, and it seems like you really know what you are talking about and Id love to hear it.

 

He shouldn't bother because it's frustrating saying something already (me saying how idiotic it is to lump aliens and ghosts together), and then having that go unnoticed. It's like no matter how many times you debunk/defend/disprove anything here it just comes back. Whether it be a post you made minutes ago or hours spent on a thread one month just to see the same thread come back once again unrefuted and filled to the brim with ignorance all over again. You said you wanted to hear more about debunking aliens/ufo's. I said it was frustrating because people like you don't listen. You know how I know? I have a different outlook on things. I like to take in as much as I can, and if I feel justified in an opinion, take a side. But with ghost and aliens I just can't find proof to make me swing either way. Heres some interesting videos

I believe in aliens more then ghost. I just like watching ghost footage, but most of it in that video is fake I would say. But the one thing about aliens, I just dont find it possible with all the galaxys, etc that there is no other life form out there.

 

 

 

Where in this post did I say they have anything to do with each other, or are related in any way? I could have searched for peoples opinions? I just like hearing what EVERYONE has to say. So why would I search for old post, when Im wanting to discuss with people right now. Thats the whole point of the off-topic chat. As for ghosts, I do believe in them, but I don't really feel like telling the same story that I told in a previous topic. The reason why ghosts don't appear on command is because a lot of them re-live a certain moment in their life over and over again at te same time. Someone would have to get really lucky to capture the exact moment on film.

Even if there is only a one in a billion chance of life arising on any given planet, there will still be one billion planets with life out there.

 

 

 

Statistically speaking, it's highly probable that there is intelligent life out there in the Universe. It's also very unlikely that aliens could ever visit us, and even if they could why the heck would they only do it on blurry videos and/or abduct farmers in the mid-west of Texas?

 

 

 

Seriously people think about it, if there was alien life out there that had the potential to visit us and was not hostile (they seem like teases more than anything) why wouldn't they show themselves officially, formally? It's completely illogical, and irrational to suppose that all these mysterious shaped objects in the sky must be UFO's, ever heard of secret planes being tested?

 

 

 

As for ghosts, well, they don't exist, period. Sadly "ghosts" are very easy to perceive in seemingly harmless photos, images etc. Again, why all the mystery with ghosts, why don't they just come out to the world?

 

 

 

You make very good points, but the video is a poor quality because its on youtube, I will try and find a better link. But that IS video from NASA. And they tried to write it off to the public as floating circles of water or something, can't remember exactly.

 

 

 

But do you realize what would happen if they presented theirself formally? Mass panic would spread, and I doubt there just gonna land at Washington DC and talk to the president. But you are right, you would think if they have been around this long they would have already.

Your logic is very flawed. So you think out of the billions of galaxys that we are the only civilization? Why not copy and paste it if you dont feel like typing it.

For all the people that are arguing, "If aliens were visiting Earth, why wouldn't they show themselves?", think of it this way. If we had capabilities to go to another planet with intelligent life that didn't have those same capabilities, what do you think we would do? Knowing the coldness of those high up there, the people on the planet would probably be treated like an experiment. And why would we show ourselves to the experiment? Not to mention the fact that the natives of that planet might attack us if we showed ourselves.

 

 

 

And if the extraterrestrials are advanced enough to come to Earth, don't you think they might have evolved even more into this mindset? It probably fuels their own egos to think that they're more advanced than us, too.

 

 

 

So, I'm the opposite of DaDieselDude. I think ghosts are total crap, but extraterrestrials are a distinct possibility -- no, a probability. Now, whether the UFO's are aliens, despite what I said before, I'm skeptical. I was merely providing a counter argument to the "show yourselves" one.

I don't think selfishness is a necessary pre-requisite for higher order species, and in fact we're probably the only species which has evolved genuine altruistic tendencies. If anything i'd say we're moving towards a more global, altruistic community, although it will take time.

 

 

 

I don't see why intelligent extra-terrestrials would be cruel, selfish and manipulative, viewing the Earth as a big experiment. And I'd be willing to bet the corollary is true. I think if we could travel to other planets we'd go in peace.

 

 

 

Another point, if they are sufficiently advanced to travel across vast regions of space presumably relatively quickly, don't you think they might be slightly better at avoiding detection should they wish to?

Well, I did say I was skeptical about actual UFO's. And who can say that they have the ability to fathom the minds of a species that we don't even know exists? They could be radically different from us. So, we don't really know. I was just throwing something out there, and it is something to think about for those claiming that aliens would have shown themselves already.

If there's intelligent life outside of Earth, which is statistically speaking nearly sure, they're probably intelligent enough not to make any sort of contact with us after they've seen the kind of sick stuff the inhabitants here do to each other and how things are run here.
