My Car stereo stopped working, can anyone help? purdy plz!!!

Featured Replies

ok so heres the deal:

Today i was driving my car to school listening to a sweet new CD i burned last night, and all of a sudden, the music stopped playing and all that i could hear was my sub-woofer. In other words, i could only hear the base, and no actual music/lyrics.

It's very annoying becuz i love music and i never realized how boring driving was untill i couldnt listen to music :x

SO PLEASE HELP ME if this has happened to u or u know how to fix this, i wouild be so happy if i could drive to school rocking out to some tunes <3:

thanks

Sounds like any other speakers you had in the car must have went out, or wires somewhere disconnected. Just take it to a stereo specialist and have him check it out.

Maybe it was the CD?

Maybe you ran into a tree?

Maybe you need to fork over a few hundred to the next auto repair shop?

Hehe...I'm annoying like that....

Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either.

(I'm a certified MECP installer)

Chances are the head unit itself is just shot, although its worth a shot to pull it out and make sure the wiring harness hasn't wiggled loose ever-so-much.

Still the King....

try the harness. try the fuse. is your remote on your amp wired to the power on the amp?? make sure there's no loose wires on the harness or the wires that you had to connect. if that doesnt work, good chance the h/u's shot.

Don't mean to get picky here, but post count means nothing.

Ya Jaz :| . Don't mean to turn on you after backing me up, but the validity of one's post is not based on their post count. Though most high post count people are fairly intelligient (thus leading to post count not completely meaning "nothing"), far too many of them are completely idiots with no ability to type whatsoever >_>. And people with high post count couldn't be always right; how could two high post counters debate if it was physically impossible for either to be wrong :P ?

Nonetheless, Jaz did clarify my point- I'm not referring to this thread alone, but Tip.it in general. Personally, seems like we've been getting a lot of "pl0x help me threads!" lately. Threads with no discussion value whatsoever, just trying to aid the OP in some way. Oi.

Actually it does, as much as we want to think it doesn't.

Take it to someone who knows about car stereos. They will be more help then us. See above posts.

Check the cables at the back of the h/u

My sister had a problem with her stereo once. She couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, so I had to. Turns out she accidentally hit the power button, and having never turned the stereo on or off she didn't even think of it.

Maybe you accidentally hit a button like "mute". Then maybe the sub-woofers just didn't mute because they are plugged in differently. I don't know much about stereos, so I am probably wrong.
