Yippee Ki Yay, Motherpffft

Die Hard 4.

Was anyone else really disappointed by that movie? There was a big controversy about it being the first Die Hard movie rated lower than R, but I thought that was pretty ridiculous because, come on, it's just a popcorn movie. Well, I just saw it, and I now stand corrected. Besides the ridiculous plot, weak-[wagon] villain who did not have the required foreign accent, and overall suckiness, there was the fact that Bruce Willis didn't say the goddamn line. He said "Yippee Ki Yay, Mother" and then a gunshot muffled the rest. Why, Santa? Why did you ruin Christmas???

Afterwards, I couldn't help thinking of how awesome the original Die Hard was, with all the blood and machine guns and the awesome German bad guy. I read somewhere that Fox edited this movie to PG-13 so that it would "appeal to a younger audience." Ugh. Why do they think kids would want a crappier, re-cut version of an already crappy movie?

Anyway, nerd rage over. Has anyone else seen Die Hard 4? What did you think of it? Are PG-13 action movies generally worse than R-rated ones?

I thought it was good, but as you say, would of been much better if it had been an R rated movie.

But then again, I did spend the latter half of the movie mentally undressing McClaines daughter.

I thought the movie was ok but nothing will ever live up to the original.

Die Hard 1 was awesome, Die Hard 4 was good, not as good but still worth the money. A shame that he didnt say yippe ki yay without the gun shot, was cool how he killed the villian though. Another cool part was when he killed the helicopter with the car :D

PLAYING HALO 3, BEST GAME EVER \:D/

When a film caters to younger people on purpose at the expense of the plot then it really is a crying shame. T3 is another example of a franchise ruined in order to allow 12 year olds into the cinemas.

Movie was terrible. I hate that Farrell kid too.

I just expected him to go, "Hi I'm a Mac and I love you Bruce Willis. Can I have your children? Because you know, I'm a Mac. A white, sleek, sexy Mac"

The first die hard was slightly unrealistic, yeah but it was believable on the film screen. This movie was just ugh. He took down a military plane with a truck. I think in this die hard he went from 'Man forced to save people' to 'Superman forced to save the USA'.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

The first movie really was something new. One location, a bad [wagon] vilain, and a hero that could really be hurt and that was human. They dazed off a bit at the second one, took a completely different angle at the third movie which was such a succes mainly because of the combination Willis/Jackson, and the fourth one. Well, yea, it doesn't have the one-liners, and sure it's less rough. But I had a good time seeing it. Don't really see what everybody is complaining about.

Die Hard with a Vengeance was my favorite, just because it was gripping and kept you on your toes the entire time.

I like the cerebral cop attitude of McLeane. Or however the heck you spell that.

I really liked it...in fact, I think I liked it better than 2. It had all the elements I want in a Die Hard movie...ridiculous over-the-top action, unbelievable plot, and comedy relief (I remember there being lots of good lines). I could understand not liking it if you don't like Justin Long, but personally, I enjoy him. Sure, I'd rather it was rated R and filled with more cussing, violence, and sex...but heck, I want more of that in just about every movie!
