Wingy77
Not going to post the entire horror story of my school life but basically it was all smooth sailing until grammar school was over and I started to get into the real schooling and education. I don't know why but I was everyone's favorite little scapegoat. Wheter I knew the person myself, or had no clue what their first names were, I was bullied. And no that wasn't stretching the truth. I'm being honest. I had kids who just switched schools making fun of me because of what others said and not actually listening to what I had to say. Now that I am a freshman I feel it will be worse. I hear terrible rumors about this high school but I don't believe them, but that means there must be something to fear. I'm just worried about what it will be like with people who are 17 and i'm only just entering high school. So does anyone have any advice for not only me, but for other people who are just entering their freshman year also. Or maybe people who are getting their first job or just got their drivers liscense for instence. This would really help me, since I start in a four days. To get in her you need a lockpick...Wait for it, wait for it..Bow chicka bow wow!

Stoop111
Dont announce you are one. Keep to yourself and your friends in the halls just look down and walk to where you wanna go. If you are in a class with upperclassmen dont make fools out of them. It seemed to work for me, until i hurt the captain of the hockey team... Isn't it lovely how having an opinion makes you hated around here?
fakeitormakeit
Well I'm going into freshman year myself but I have never been bullied because of: 1. If you stand strong for yourself and not let yourself be pushed around it will stop. I was never pushed around because people knew I was quite nice and gave out advice and stopped fighting but if you got on my bad side that I don't use bad side sparingly. 2. Some people do this but this isn't me, just ignore the person because they'll stop because they think it doesn't bother you so wasted energy for them. Lemeja
Well, I'm starting High School myself and I was a bit worried also. One thing you should make sure you do is go to your school's orientation/open house because that is EXTREMELY helpful. Stay away from people you think are bad (yes you can usually tell by looking even though you shouldn't "judge a book by it's cover"). If you don't have any friends who are going to the same school as you then make a few fast, and make sure they are good ones. Stick with them and ignore any idiots who're trying to put you down. Don't attract attention and just try staying out of trouble. This is the advice I've gotten anyway-I don't start until Tuesday :)
Flametrooper
High school's not as bad as you think, really. At least it wasn't for me. And be confident - that really helps. It's like you've got this aura, which tells people whether or not you're the sort of person that they could piss around with, and if you can be confident and outgoing, or relaxed, and not shy, apprehensive, and fearful, then your "aura" will be positive and people won't bother you as much. See what I'm saying?
underu2000
I'm a junior myself, nothing bad thus far. You may get jeered at occasionally for being a Freshman, but it's rare that it gets worse. By the end of the year, you'll shrug it off and prepare yourself to pick on the fresh meat. I mean freshmen! Really. This is how my school runs: Freshmen: The new hopefuls. If there's a problem, blame them (kidding). Sophomores: The idiots who make fun of the freshmen the most. I mean sophomore means "wise fool". Like, what the heck? Junior: Too busy to care apparently. They get obnoxious in gym though. Seniors: They don't care about anything apparently. They're 8 months from being done with school and nothing will stop them from not caring. It's a crusade... Life is a joke. Yeah, I don't get it either. azntemplar_00
Don't worry - in the end, you're all in high school. There's only so much that can happen given the circumstances.
Craiglowery
Enjoy yourself. High school will be the time of your life and as long as you stay out of other peoples ways, you'll be fine.
kickbuta
I'd also like to add, dont knock anybody up. Always use protection, and pay attention in health. Ah wise advice... many of my friends should have heeded my words, but alas they didnt. Highschool isn't nearly as fun when you have a kid.

Rebdragon
Focus on finding the best organazational system for you for each of your classes. It will make your year a hell of a lot easier if you organize each class in the way that best aids you (ex., some classes are best using a three-pronged folder with a small college-rule notebook for notes, while others work better with three-ring binders, dividers, and pure looseleaf, especially if the class has a lot of three-hole-punched handouts. Just find out which method(s) work best for you in each of your classes). Overall, high school's not that bad, and I go to an All-boys College Prep high school, so I think that statement actually has some weight to it :-w . Icingdeath
Conform. Do it now. Unique is boring. Right? I really wouldn't call it an era. It was more of a definitive time period during which dinstinctive characteristics were expressed in similar ways.

deloriagod
Dont announce you are one. Freshman don't have to say a word and everyone knows they're freshman. The worried looks on the first day of school, scrambling to find their classes, not joking around and just having fun like everyone who's been there before, and they hang on every word teachers say.. At least until they settle in. But really, high school isn't bad. I'm a junior this year and it's going pretty well. Not a big fan of my schedule but oh well. Once you find your classes you don't really have anything to worry about. Maybe finding a seat at lunch but all you need to do is call your friends to see where they're sitting and go find them. Homework can be a pain but for the most part if you choose not to do it teachers basically won't care. They seem to figure it's your grade and talking to you really isn't going to change you.. You just need to go in with a positive attitude and have fun while you still can.. @Whoever said juniors are annoying in PE: Hah, yeah I remember being a sophomore and hating how the juniors acted like they knew everything and could beat any of us at what we played. Funny thing is, I'm on the other side now :P Internet Marketing For Newbies
