hellbellz
Can we get some type of code so when pictures are quoted it say something like ? It's really annoying to scroll down forever to get down to the bottom. Look at this topic for an example.
tripsis
It can be rather annoying when huge images are quoted. If it gets too excessive I guess you could always report it and ask a moderator to put the quote in hide tags. I'm not sure about the code thing you're suggesting. You'll have to wait for Albosky to respond. I'm not entirely sure if it's possible, or easy to do if it is possible. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
hellbellz
It's probably not possible, but why not point it out? :-w It's a waste of time just to report something that I won't see again...

I beg to differ. If you report it, it can be changed and won't annoy the next person who sees it :P - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Tbfgraphx14
Overall in the pics thread, I think there should be less quoting. I see abut 2 pictures on a page. :wall: They should put more stress on hiding images. I always hide mine. Tbfgraphx14Happy to find I'm not the only one who eats glass. While I don't know a ton of php, it should be easy to disable bbcode inside of a quote (basically changing it to quote-code)
insane
I believe it was done in the past (along with removing nested quotes), but removed for some reason.
InkofDeath
I believe it was done in the past (along with removing nested quotes), but removed for some reason. Yea, that's what I thought too, I kept seeing , or 'img' or something along those lines in a quote that would have had an image in it, and then they just didn't appear anyone? This would be very kind to the dial-up users, or slow internet connection users, since images wouldn't be loaded twice.

I usually just edit out the image code and replace it with image if I'm quoting a picture; that might be what you're seeing. Well, no it wouldnt , because the image is only downloaded once, just appears twice. I had images stripped out of quotes before and people whined. ____
just replace the image tag with a url tag or something. If people want to see the pic they can still click the link / copy it into the address bar.

andufusthebronze
Why not have it so that, like a hide, you have to open it to see the quote, picture or no picture. For example it'd be like this... [hide=Andufusthebronze wrote] This is my example, and this is what a quote would look like [/hide]

Albosky
I have no problem turning images inside quotes to links instead of displaying the image again, but if its done this time, I won't revert it when others don't like it :P agreed? I don't think the few who have posted here is a sufficient number to declare such a drastic outcome. I'd suggest at least some kind of poll, or some kind of notice, or larger discussion. But I'd also love to ignore the practicalities, and just go ahead with it. :-#

I believe a more specific solution would be necessary. If the quoted text is over 2,000 characters or if it goes to 3 quotes deep, then it should be hidden. However, in a help and advice thread, sometimes people ask questions further down in the thread, and I like to respond to them by quoting what they said, then answering it.
