September 12, 200718 yr Well, I've never used Photoshop before, and I got a bit bored. So I decided to mess around with those default pictures that come with Windows XP [like the ship, pyramids, ocean, and zebra.] It didn't take too long for each one, around 10 minutes or so. I'm really not too sure what I'm doing at all, so If you guys could give me some help and point me in the right direction that would be appreciated :). They're all kind of big, so I posted links to them instead. September 13, 200718 yr Over used the filters waayyy to much. I'm a more of the natural, but still manipulated look instead of the extremely filtered look kinda guy. Try using filters and adjustments that actually change the characteristics of the photo instead of just using such strong filters. Granted, they are kinda cool looking, but its just not my kinda thing, but if your into that, more power to you. If you haven't already, check out my gallery for some manipulation ideas. My gallery. Edit: And good-tutorials.com has some good tuts, just search for manipulations under photoshop. -All sigs by me.[My Gallery]

I only used one filters on every one except the ocean, but your right they are very filter-y.
September 13, 200718 yr It's not that you used too many filters. They're just too strong. They're also filters I wouldn't generally use because they're too strong. A good way to go about photo manips is to use combinations of filters to create subtle effects. They are your firsts though so good job. I'm kind of fond of the Zebra one.
September 13, 200718 yr They look quite good but they look like filter piles to me. Try some actually manipulation more. Adding and removing parts of the photo. Moving stuff about etc. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. September 13, 200718 yr Author Thanks for your comments everybody, I'll try to work on not using powerful filters and such :).
September 14, 200718 yr I suggest that you don't concentrate on what tools you should and shouldn't use, but what you want the outcome to look like. I find the best results come when I already know exactly what I want to create before I start the work. However, I do suggest you learn how to use as many features of the program as you can, which will unlock many more possibilities.
September 14, 200718 yr I like the zebra best, but i think you used too many effects. Good attempt for the first time though. My Gallery :: Deviant Art ->Gallery :: Favourites :: ::My blog ::
September 14, 200718 yr Use hotlink #1 to upload pictures normal size with no white or anything which also doesn't need a link to access. Main: Snw rifleman - FINISHED DESERT TRESURE 11/5/08 WOO Just your typical asian who likes to play games =)
September 15, 200718 yr Author Use hotlink #1 to upload pictures normal size with no white or anything which also doesn't need a link to access. Thanks but I chose not to do that because these are some preety massive pics [which I didn't realize] and so instead of taking 10101 hrs to load, I thought i would just put the links instead. Thanks everyone for your input :).
