Defender - because its pretty much free and quite easy to replace aswell as having decent stats

I like defender, but use the obby shield when I go to a monster that hits very hard. Bit more defence. :D

Because, the defender has a SMALL strength bonus allowing you to hit higher. It has a Small defence bonus. (NEGATIVE def on mage and range.)

 

 

 

The Dragon Squares defence far outweighs the attack bonuses on a defender. You can stay in one place longer while training and less food is used. Zero on mage defence which is better than the defenders and a POSITIVE range defence.

I have both Rune Defender and Dragon Sq Shield. I say use Rune Defender always unless you are training/questing in an area that requires lots of defense bonuses.

 

 

 

Dragonfire Shield owns everything, though. When I get a Visage, this will no longer be relevant.

defender hands down dfire only just beats it not even sure if it does for training

So what if the obby shield is common? It has the same str bonus, plus some def bonus :). I use it all the time during slayer. I don't know how well it work for pking though, sorry. I don't pk :P.

to me, it really depends on what you're doing.
