October 5, 200718 yr Never heard of the legacy punishment. And I was pretty sure that jagex don't remove black marks and stuff.
October 5, 200718 yr Legacy punishment means you comitted the offence before their 'new' offence system. (june 2006) It won't go away, also not appealable. - Back to casual f2p scaping due to limited time (university and girlfriend ) -

October 6, 200718 yr It was like september 2006 and I got muted for 3 days. The offence page said the rule was broken before July 2006. There was no evidence and I couldn't appeal it -.- I was like wtf?? :wall: Uhh so yeah, bit OT but I thought I'ld tell my story... It'll be interesting to see if the black marks do disappear.

October 8, 200718 yr blackmarks do expire. my friend used to scam on his level 90, and got 17 blackmarks. a couple days ago, he checked it after not looking at it for 2 years +. and it logged in and wasnt banned anymore.

My first account was made for me by my cousin when I was in like 6th grade I think. I was...11? October 8, 200718 yr I have had my account for 5-6 years and never received a black mark. This whole "Legacy Punishment" system is really beyond my understanding. If they have No evidence then you shouldn't retain any Black Marks or bans. You are innocent until proven guilty.

October 11, 200718 yr ...This whole "Legacy Punishment" system is really beyond my understanding. What's to not understand? They changed their system to retain the evidence. Legacy just means that the offense happened before they started keeping better records. .If they have No evidence... Thay had the evidence... ...then you shouldn't retain any Black Marks or bans. ... but they just didn't keep it. You are innocent until proven guilty. The player was assumed innocent until the mod saw the evidence. Now, presumably, the old Jagex mods did act in a proper manner. But for these old black marks Jagex has to decide "Do we trust our paid Mods or do we trust this unknown player?"

October 11, 200718 yr Never heard of Legacy Punishment, but it's been confirmed by numerous people that blackmarks WILL dissipate over the course of several years. But if you're already perm banned/account locked then it doesn't matter. So if you've got 2 blackmarks, and you behave perfectly for a few years they'll be down to 1, .5, or 0 bms or so. There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.
