So I haven't made one of these babys in forever and, well, I kind of got inspired too by the recent space signature thats popped up here. Needless to say the above is what I came out with. :)

Anyways any comments/suggestions/CC? I'm going to be building a larger scene around this when I get the time.

I think the land is a bit scattered, it doesn't look realistic in my opinion.

I still like it though, the finished piece should be the sex.

Thanks.

I'm not too sure what you mean by the land though, Its not earth so land could very well be like that. :P

The clouds look odd... other than that, I couldn't find any faults.. it's nice! ::'

Hmm.. clouds could deal with perhaps a bit lower opacity now that you mention it.

Thanks.

Yea I was thinking you would say that lol.

I'm assuming since your planet has water/atmosphere/clouds etc that it is based upon Earth's processes.

Land is formed from the hardened magma beneath the crust, which wouldn't spill out and form small sparsly populated landmass. It would have more of a shape to it with denser clusters. Although technically possible, I think unrealistic.

I guess you are right. I'm not geologist after all :P.

Sadly changing it up terribly much is more of a pipe dream for the land mass at this point.

It depends on the context of the scene.

It might work, for example you might resize the planet and it looks fine in the end.

Well right now the planet is already resized down over half. (started as 2500x2500). I'll probably work with clouds and some other stuff on it however, really make it look better. There is some stuff I can improve on it definitely before I place it in a scene.

:)

Looks great.

Suggestions:

The clouds are odd as mentioned above.

And the shadow needs to be more circly.

Thanks. I messed with transparancies a little bit, think it helps.

That's not an original piece at all, you just took a picture of the 5th planet of the Xyyjatnol system,

located in Sector-X of the Galaxy of No Return.

The Xyyjanil Overlords will be most displeased. :shame:

Seriously though that's pretty good. :)

However I am a realist and therefore know that I probably wont be able to.

Well, it looks good, but I don't like how the clouds look warped.

That is pwnage man, pwnage. But pryomancer is better

Whell here are my thougts:

-I think you will have to redo it alot if you want it to look like Earth or similar. If not, it is good as it is.

-the clouds are never like that. Here, look at this:

earthas17.jpg

That is Earth and it' s clouds. As you can see, you have no ecuator, no north or south pole, and no typhoons or any cloudy shapes.

-try a coral reef. It would look awesome, a nice cyany part in the sea.

Other than that, it' s a 9/10. Keep working, look at pryomancer and his progress.

Lol, I'm not that good  That sig was like one of my first ever space scenes.

Anyway, I do think the clouds could be improved like Mico suggested above.

Great picture, you are talented. How about you try one with the landmass identical to the Runescape continent? I've seen some of them before and it's pretty impressive what arrives, but in the whole planet view it would be awesome. :) Perhaps you could introduce a moon/moons for your planet and place it in the background?

Having a runescape in a rl planet setting would be the best thing to happen to the tip.it gallery since the creation of the art bazzaar :D

And my only complaint with your planet is the akwardness of the clouds. Otherwise its amazing. I'm assuming you did it from scratch; if so 100/10

no typo
