Andrew_s_2
Smith gold bar.with smithing glvoes its 56.2 exp per gold ore. better than making rune bars, gold ore can be eaisly mined or bought for 500gp each. 99 attack-34,104th to 99 attack. Master_Smither
Steel plates is the fastest smithing XP. But at 600-650ea per bar thats a cost of 3000-3250 per plate. They sell for 1k each MAX and alch for 1200. So either way your losing 2000-2250 per steel plate. Basicaly a huge cost for XP. Personally I'd do iron knives if you want reletivaly quick smithing XP with profit. Or if your adevnturous like I was do Cannon Balls it's 12k xp an hour and you make a profit of 200 gp per steel bar smithed. 22woger22
You should smelt gold ore into gold bars with the gauntlets from Family Crest. It's the fastest yet most expensive method. We all know you can afford it. :P

Like, obviously something like steel plates, then mithril plates, then addy plates, then rune kite or something will be the fastest exp to 99 smithing - however the return of your money spent (steel plates for example - you lose about 2k every steel plate you smith from 5 steel bars) is not really worth the cost. You're the smithing master anyway. :)

Chazimcgee
Well steel plates are your best bet eni, or gold ore with gauntlets at port phasmatys or neitiznot. vleademir
I would suggest gold bars but your crafting is already 99 so you would have nothing to do with the bars. Steel plates i'd suggest, money is worth the cool smithing cape :D
Kriseo
Superheat-make bolts-sell. Mage xp,smith xp,fletch xp and maybe even profit! Its relatively fast too. Also, i tried farming once and my potatoes died, put me off forever.
Enipeus
can I superheat gold ores with smithing gauntlets for th exp? and is it faster to superheat? and how long does it take to cast spell? (eg: alching 3 seconds per spell) 99 magic is my next main goal and possibly smithing, so maybe superheating would be better in the long run because it would get me 99 mage as well. Otherwise I will do steel plates.
cat666
The reason people don't make mith, addy, or rune plates for XP. The amount of coal increases and makes them more expensive and slower to make. Trust the Gene Genie!

agira
For me is very interesting what think Master_Smither because he got 99 smithing & i think he worked a lot to rearch it, i know how hard is to get 99 in some not fast skill, like i now trying get 99 agility. Really a lot of people training on Arror/Knifes or darts Making, another good like i think way is Gold bars smelting with gloves, i think to do it to 85 mining later (i mean i will mine gold ores up to when i rearch 85 mining and then smelt that all ores with golden gloves and i get some smithing levels in this way up - but i will do this after 99 agility, because agility will be helpfull me here); I trained some last my smithing levels in Furnance blast just buying all ores on place i worked then on Mith plates after i maked they i alched they, changing worlds when all ores been used in current world, in this way i needed less coal and profit i had on same level, alching of mith plates maked then i just loose nats and not waste more money then my nats. But i dream about other tactics, i got already from Kingdom management about 22k of coal and i think to get it noted to furnance blast, then i will buy only Mith ore from store and make mith plates using my own coal to go a bit in plus with money alching they later, i just wonder or here is better to make Mithril arrowtrips or Mith plates, arrowtrips can be reusable on fletching skill later and it level up some my fletch levels and ultimate product will be possible to sell or to use. Suggestion: You can use Anchor on Waterfiends - is cheap if to compare to GS & effective with crush attack & it hit like Whip.Visit my exp track
