Either of you going to help him out, or just spam this person's post?

On topic, you could with cannon balls, gold bars(with the gold guantlets of course). Those are you're two best options.

Cannon balls make 100-200 gp per steel bar, steel bar costs 600-630 gp ea, cannon balls cost 200 ea and you get four of them. Gold bars is really good exp, but you lose tons of money.

Lol. I been pming master smither but I don't see how this spam happened. I know gold and c balls. I don't have the cash for gold but smith suggested nat crafting to buy gold. C balls seems like a good method for me. I was thinking I could use profits to buy gold since gold is faster then c balls, right? Anyone got exp/hr for smithing? I do have gauntlets.

Mine 10K pure essence, Make into nats -> Sell -> Buy steelbars -> MAke Cannonball's, 200GP profit ea Steelbar ^^ ::'

How does this relate to getting 99 smith? First off, I'd like to see you mine 10k pure ess, and craft those into nats, . Second, he could do a lot of other things to make money. Third, all he has to do is buy 1k-10k steel bars, and make into cannon balls, not mine 10k pure ess... <.<

He made a good point by suggesting the most profitable way for Nopheo to get more cash. I'm not much of a smither but I guess c-balls r good, as knives r no gud no mure cuz of stuipid update >.<

You dont have to buy all at once. You can buy just 1k steel bars, then sell the c-balls, then use the $ to buy more steel.Gold is much faster, but you lose a lot of money.

I'd recommend buying iron ores is bulk at 100 ea. Then buying forging rings in bulk for around 2k ea. Then smith 306,219 ores into bars then bars into knives and sell in world 2 by the Fally east-range area.

Iron is far too slow, and rings of forging far too hard to find in massive quantities. You'd be better off devising a smelting/smithing system, if your goal is to break even. For example - steel is probably the best because the materials are easiest to find in mass quantities. What you do is smelt bars and sell, buy more ores, and repeat until you have enough to make a certain amount of bars - 2k, 5k, 10k, whatever. Then when you hit that amount, smith the bars into plates and sell the plates for 1k ea - do not alch them because it is a huge waste of money. Use that amount to buy the ores for steel bars. You get the picture.

If you would rather use iron to make knives, then use the blast furnace on the official blast furnace world. Iron in a regular furnace is a huge waste of time. I don't know if people buy out the iron there or not, but even if they do, you can just buy a ton of it at 110 ea and unnote it at the ore seller as you go. Having people running the furnace while you smelt iron is 3 times as fast as doing it yourself in a furnace, if not faster, and doesn't require rings of forging. You will still come out ahead, even if you have to sell the knives at 35ea. And you will save hundreds of hours doing it that way instead of smelting 300k iron ores in a furnace. In fact, if there are people working the furnace for you, you can easily get 100k xp per hour down there. Just make sure you pitch in and help run the furnace every now and then - you don't want to be a freeloader

Well, to clear up everything, let me post your options and a little summary:

1. Steel bars turned into cannon balls: Good money maker, very slow, and not really great exp, but a 200 gp per bar profit.

2. Gold ores smelted into bars, using gold gaunlets: Very good exp, EXTEREMLY expensive(you lose roughly 200 gp per bar).

3. Steel bars into steel plates: Not good exp for the cost, EXTERMELY expensive as well(you'll lose 2k per plate).

4. Making iron bars, and making them into knives, to sell: Good exp, rather slow, and you can barely make a profit.

5. Others: Not worth mentioning, as they are probably very costly, or slow and poor exp.

That sums up your options I think.

I use my Miscellenia Kingdom as a coal source. I buy iron ore in bulk. I them smelt steel bars and sell them. I use that money to buy iron bars.

10,000 steel bars if I smithed them: 375,000 xp (10,000 * 37.5)

or

10,000 steel bars sold for 625 each: 6,250,000 gp

Iron bars bought for 250 each: 25,000

25,000 iron bars if I smith them: 625,000 xp (25,000 * 25)

I always sell the higher level bars to other people and buy iron to get the most xp I can for my money.

steel plates is the fastest method and therefore also the most expensive.

How about buying adamant bars and making addy bolts (plain, with no gems)? I'm told that addy bars are 3k each and the bolts 300 each. Even with the feathers that's VERY close to breaking even. The only issue here would be the time taken. But is it worth it as cheap exp or not?

Oh, then there's also the issue of getting the sufficient cash to start off. Well I guess if you're a good ranger you could get the bars from the avarines or whatever those birds in armadyl's eerie are called.
