Shop for items from retired banks?

Featured Replies

I'm sure that everyday at least 20+ players decide they've had enough and retire from the game, which then removes resources from the game seeing as no-one else can access their bank.

So I was wondering, what if these items where to be sent to a new store or general store after a set time limit? The money left in banks would be left but the items could be sent to a shop were they're sold for the their original price.

This means there would be more resources in the game but deflation wouldn't be a problem as the new resources would be balanced out by the money spent on them.

And then when the player comes back a year later they have nothing.

Well that's why there is a time limit, if they don't log on for, lets say, 18 months the stuff is sent to the shop. They would be told beforehand.

Sorry but that is a horrible idea. A lot of people quit for long periods of time, and have rares in their bank, and expect the rares to have raised while they are gone. And their bank is exactly that - theirs. If Runescape could start meddling in people's bank then Runescape would start looking like communism.

Communism and FÃÆÃâÃâührer? In the same post?:lol::lol:

I would not support grabbing stuff from someone's bank. What if the person decided to come back? It would be like "well, after 23 months I'm back and I'm going to wear my elite armor and party hat and.. OH! WHY IS MY BANK SO EMPTY?"

"I studied silence, learnt the music.

I joined the sinful to regain innocence.

Heaven queen, carry me away from my pain!"

This IS more of a suggestion than a debate.

But it's not a suggestion I support. However, I think it might be a good thing if someone who has been banned for longer than 12 months have their items sold in this shop (for approximate market value). Every time some stupid RW item trader gets banned they take their rares with them and drive the prices higher... it would be nice if that were fixed.

Actually looking back on this it sound like a stupid idea, forget it.

I'd love to have played RS back in 2003 or whatever, having 100+ phat sets, come back in a few days and find out somebody bought my phats for 1k each at the general store. [/sarcasam]

There is some merit to your suggestion. The only way this could work would be if the items only came from players who are permanently banned. It could have a message to possible rule breakers as well, "If you break the rules and are banned your items will be sold to the general public".
