Being your first offense, pray for deferred prosecution. That's what it's called in Alabama. On my first drug offense, I received deferred prosecution which meant that if I completed the terms set forth by the court, I could have the charges dropped.

Being 18, you're gonna get hit as an adult. You could try and get a good lawyer that could get the charges reduced to trespassing and/or aiding and abetting. Your best bet is to get the charges reduced as low as possible and aim for probation+community service or something similar to deferred prosecution.

You ARE lucky you haven't been picked up and booked. The last time I got picked up on drug charges, I got to spend about 48 hours in jail in maximum security before I could get bailed out. The first time I got picked up, I just sat around in city jail for a couple hours, got transported to county and then got bonded out once I was booked in county. (it was pretty lame. got booked in and then immediately booked out.)

If your motives was drug money, I'd be getting into rehab or some sort. It'll look alot better on the courts that way. Regardless, try and find the best damn lawyer you can find. The quality of lawyer makes a HUGE difference. My first time around would have been alot different if I had a better lawyer.

Good luck. Jail sucks. I'll die before I go back.

Completely harmless - just stay calm

Easy

then go to prison for a few years.

I don't know how this is handled in the US, but where i live you don't even get a criminal record for your first offense, unless you are killing somebody or something.

@TE: Tell the prosecution you are sorry and that the whole incidence gave you the opportunity to rethink the value of property. Tell them that you were wrong and mean all that when you sy it. Something like that. Judging from your post you already got all the punishment you need.

i can be calm..i honestly have nothing to worry about. im not scared of going to jail. i did get a good lawyer. im just waiting for my summons to come in the mail. i live in MINNESOTA. im almost positive i wont go to jail. if i do maybe for a month. woo wee. a month is nothing lol. and im glad i chose to break into this place instead of a house. because when you break into houses. you can go to prision your first time. i no im not going to prison. so im not too worried about this situation as of right now.

and most of all

im glad i got caught. because if i didnt then i would prob keep going till i got caught. better now then later. and no this was not for drug money.

Maybe not much jail time, but don't drop the soap... Assisted robbery and 18... Gl finding a job. :|

Seriously, though, talk to your lawyer. You might get a reduced sentence if you testify against your buddies... Unless you don't want them to (possibly) beat the crap out of you when they get out.

I just want to give you this advice from a more unfortunate friend of mine who was brutally beaten 4 years ago and is handicapped for life:

If you want to have some sort of life after you get out of jail, NEVER snitch or testify against the people who were involved, especially if they are your friends.

People have long memories for those kind of things, believe me, cops wont protect you from what they can, and will do in retaliation for you cutting a -3 month deal on your sentencing which ended up to +60 months on their sentences.

Be honest about everything else, return the stolen goods, co-operate with cops, go to boot camp/communal service or whatever they might order you to after possible jail time. :)

Remember even a 2-year sentence doesn't literally mean two years, with good behavior, politeness towards prison staff/parole board can cut your term even down to 9 months or less.

You might also consider being a realist. :? You're only 18 years old who probably fought 'really' very few times. You don't have any realistic chance of getting away, or fighting 6 people with knives/guns who corner you while you walk in an alley alone, or go anywhere at all alone, which will happen sooner or later.

I don't think you quite understand the fact in real life, people who have ratted their 'colleagues' especially if involved in organized crime, are in almost 100% of cases in a witness protection/police surveillance program for the rest of their lives and they change to a new identity and name, plus relocate to a different city.

But if what you said is true that the president of that lab dropped charges for returning the items, you should be safe since then your friends got off the hook as well.

okay blue you caught me.

id be lieing if said i was not scared.

i am scared a little. but im not too worried about it to be honest.

and the charges are not getting dropped. my lawyer said to not even bother returning the items. because it just says that your guilty

Your friends would corner you and beat you to an inch of your life because YOU agreed to it a beating there would have been nothing but a beating out of selfishness will be a lot worse.

Hit the gym, at 18 you're gona be a target for bullying in jail. Seeing as you're probably going to jail with your friends, make sure you stick together. Don't become anyones [bleep], if you're unfortunate enough to get into a fight with some nutcase if you can, go in hard else you'll be seen as weak.[/i]

someone in my town did something stupider then this.

he went to a bank with a box. he claimed the box had explosives in it, and to give him some amount of money.

Then he ran outside and escaped on a bike

One difference: he got away with it...

Um.. On topic...

Even if you get off, you still got a problem. Any place your trying to get a job is going to see a big felony charge. I know most people don't higher people who were charged with felonies, even if they were only the driver.

Troll? I can't tell.

Troll? :|

Troll.

If he's real though, say hi to Fook in jail for me. :P

Haha, Fook tried to rob a bank with a knife right? LOL

Yeah, I've known Fook for ages... He did that in like 2004. Fortunately prisons in Denmark aren't quite what you'd even expect of a 'prison'.. They get libraries, internet access, TV's, many warm meals a day etc...

It had something to do with drugs too, if my memory serves me right he was into some pretty hard drugs. Funding those takes money..

He's a totally different person now though, just shows people can and do change with time.
