How to get it, herbs, trees, watermelons? I definitely don''t want to spend more than 400k or so on this, but I'm flexible.

you could sell the extra supercompost to make some more money

You could also do MTK and put workers on Maples to get nests if you're willing to wait a while.

Thanks :D . But can anyone elaborate on exactly what to do, or how to mix watermelons and herbs?

grow rannars, every 75min i think how long it takes, go through and pick rannars and watermelons, put super compost down and replant, then put watermelons in compost bin and bank rannars

If it's for the diary, just get 67farm and use a garden pie.

Use MTK to get tree seeds. 100% flax, 50% maples. Averages about 30 nests a week. Buy oaks/apples if you run low as these are cheap.

Once a day do a tree run which takes you around all 9 patches (5 tree, 4 fruit). Always pay the farmer to look after these, don't bother with super compost, not needed.

Whenever you can (roughly every 75 mins) do a herb allotment run, taking in all 4 allotments and the extra herb patch. Cabbage seeds are dirt cheap and provide reasonably fast XP. Herb wise I would say use My Arm's patch for ranarr/snapdragons seeds and fill the other 4 with less expensive seeds. If you have an ammy of nature then you can plant ranarr/snaps in another patch if you are staying online.

Harralander/Toadflax is ideal. Harra seeds are 1kea and Toadflax about 1.2kea. Harra herbs sell about 1kea whislt Toadflax sell for about 1.3kea. Harras are bought by people training herblore for fast XP at a medium level. Toadflax by high level herblorists for the Sara Brews.

If you use magic secatuars and super compost you are guaranteed at least 5 herbs from a plant.

5 * 1000 = 5000

- 1000

= 4000

Thats minimum profit on a harralander. Sometimes you will get lucky and get 10 harralanders. That's 9k profit. These are ideal for "power farming" becuase if one dies, you only lose 1k seed cost, and this is easily recoupable with another plant.

If you grow watermelons don't waste them on super compost. Ahmaid in Catherby will sell you 40 pineapples a day for 2gpea. If you do manage to get through these you can pick more for free on Brimhaven or convince another player to buy there stock of pineapples from them. 40 pineapples is still 30+ super composts though so you will rarely use them in one day.

This way you won't lose much, save the odd few gp on pineapples/cabbage seeds/tree seeds. The herbs will more than make up for this, even you are only growing harras/toadflax.

Trust the Gene Genie!

I use MTK the other way around: 100% maples, 50% flax. I gets you more nests (duh) and if you make the flax into bowstrings (crafting xp!) you should be able to cover (most of) your expenses from MTK.

Note the normal trees grow A LOT faster then fruit trees. I usually start with a "tree round" , mix in the fruit tress, and then spend my time in RS doing other stuff. Check the growing time is the guide to check if you can make another normal tree round at the end of your RS time to speed sthings up. You could grow herbs of course in the mean time. I think it's too much of a hassle to make a herb round every 1,5 hours, but that's just me. If you really want to power up on farming, I'm sure it's not a hassle for you  .

Always pay farmers for trees (any kind) and use the "My Arm" patch for herbs you don't want to die at any cost (like ranarrs, snapdragon).

Also, remember that there are several quests that give farming exp!

He said he wanted it on the cheap :)

But yeah you will get more tree seeds if you set maples to 100%. However you will only end up with 3.5k flax a week which isn't enough to make a profit (unless you find time to spin to bowstrings). You do however end up with a lot of maples but I always struggle to sell them.
