Myweponsg00d
The game should be challenging on a gameplay level. Monsters should be hard to kill, etc. The fact that the game was challenging on basic playability shows design flaws. Why should it be hard to get ahold of essential skill items like elemental runes or water filled vials? Why should it be a challenge to track down a seller of a particular item at a particular time? That just makes the entire gameplay experience frustrating and more difficult to get to the actual things that matter in the GAME, like killing monsters. Need assistance in any of these skills? Artemis1330
You cannot please all the people all the time. Not every update is meant for YOU. Lootshare and assist are both optional. Personally, I don't like either, so I don't use them. The GE has not even come out yet, and won't for 2-3 weeks. I am not making and assumptions until I use it. I am not a skiller, but i do some skills.
Freesia
Well For the past few months, I'd say Jagex has been bringing some neat updates into rs. But most of them are making the game "easier" I'd say, For one The "Assistance System", Also "Lootshare" Which imo would be for the lower levels who have complained about never getting a drop and such. Also You guys may not think this, but I think that Jagex has gone all round' Purposing to the Children now. I mean the chat box, the rules, the community? Also the past few quest updates have "Noodled" they're just to easy, I believe rs is in a downfall right now. I'm not to pleased with it How is lootshare the way you described it to be. Obviously high lvls would have some intelligence not to invite some low lvl to monster hunt that would allow them to exploit the system. If you restrict it to friends only clan chat (all your high lvl friends), most low lvls (not friends and not in chat) can't use lootshare with the group of high lvls. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
Lacrosse_fan
1. F2p doesn't deserve updates, only for the fact why? they don't pay for anything. Hey [wagon], have you been on a ftp world lately? Notice those boxes with pretty pictures over the game screen? They're called ads, and companies pay Jagex to have them there. Of course Jagex is making RuneScape more and more childish, children have parents with credit cards. Plain and simple. All those ads pay for are the F2P server costs, so they just break even with F2p! so thier only profit comes from P2P! F2P is basicly there to suck kids in to the money making P2p, thier product. They gave you SS and you will get the Grand Exchange, be thankful. I shall take my flock underneath my own wing, and kick them right the [bleep] out of the tree. unorclan
make a note to everyone: stop using the term "high levels" (meaning the group of people) as the "mature" group. There are countless "high levels" that are immature little kids addicted to the game to much, and there are MANY lower levels who are just mature people playing a game. Not that i'm a low level but.... Thanks to the amazing talent of Jopie211 for the sig!Finest Fist of Guthix Strategy Guide
kallenkootx
i think these systems are more filaed attemps that have little effect, but the only thing i believe to be childish are the new skil icons, theyre way too polished for runescape and especially for skillcapes. theyre only meant to give lil kids the idea that game play doesnt count anymore and grpahics only do. Makoto_the_Phoenix
Only thing that I'm upset with is how players like yourself seem to take these things that are of bare minimum consequence and then turn it into a spiel about how "Jagex caters to the children". It gets annoying, you know, but I digress. I can't exactly see how the Assist Skill system, or Lootshare, made the game any easier than it was before. Basically, with the Assist Skill, all you have is the same exact thing that you did before it existed, except the risk of another player taking your goods has been removed (and no, we're not talking about gems or anything trivial, either). Lootshare made it so that clans taking on a boss-type monster could have an equal chance at the loot. In both cases, both scenarios existed in different and "insecure" ways before they were updated by Jagex. I also don't feel that the game is going to the children. Perhaps you're getting older and viewing it in a different light. The rules have been there since before you registered, and the filter [my guess is that this is what you were on about when you said 'chat box'] is there to reduce the number of kids you see using four or five-letter words. Honestly, I don't care how old you are; cursing just because you can isn't cool. The community is what we make of it. We are the community. Older players leave the community, and they're not replaced by older players. Also, more and more teenagers play these types of games, which offsets the balance of adult and children playing RuneScape in particular. Nobody's holding a gun to your head to make you do these "easy" quests, either. If you don't like their direction, don't do them. Perhaps the Grand Exchange will make RS simpler. I for one sure do hate going into World 1/2 just to sell a few items; 30 minutes worth of fight for 15 minutes worth of sell-time just doesn't seem practical to me. (No, I don't believe in using desktop shortcuts or any other little trick; I'm content with just going through the site as was intended anyway.) (By the by, we've always been a little bit lazy, but that laziness was practical. Who wanted to harvest 10,000 iron and 20,000 coal to get some Smithing levels? That could be construed as laziness as well, you know.) psycho1701
simpler lmao, u never use to play in rsc when the game all u had was rune armour ATT DEF STR mode to fight with every weapon and it was the most simple game... now there sos much stuff its hard to keep up I almost deffenatly wouldn't ever have played RS classic. One of the things I love about RS2 is that there is SOO many different things to do! It's nearly impossible for me not to be able to find something I want to do in this game. And BTW I enjoy most of the updates. Some of them (like lootshare) don't effect me at all so I don't have an opion about them. And there are a few I'm not crazy about. Like this year's halloween event stank... But this new trading thing sounds absolutly awesome!
rook_2222
I think RS is getting pretty childish. for god's sake who would enjoy the new banners they put up recently? Everything is becoming more simpler. The assist system is a pretty dumb update in my opinion. I remember the good old days when there wouldn't be all the autoers there are now and no noobs saying "phr33 st00f pl0x" F2P for life :D
