Yes, you could compare him to god, but you don't have to believe in god to have a perfectly good life (not including anything pertaining to an afterlife). You absolutely had to believe in Stalin, no matter what, and many people were killed because of this.

However, while you may not have to believe in God to lead a good life, you do to have a good afterlife, whether it truly exists or not. Kind of the same idea there. God may not have been a, "cruel dictator", but from what I understand he was a rather ruthless guy. Some of Stalin;s political adversaries were lucky; some were deported or banished. In most countries political dissidents like that would be arrested. And as for the Holodomor: nothing was ever proven, and it could have been caused naturally.

Most monotheists will agree that if you lead a good, virtuous life you will go to heaven (or something similar), even if you don't believe in it.

 

 

 

How can you compare Stalin to god after all of the horrible things he's done? The point of monotheism isn't to be fearful of god and to believe in him and do everything the bible tells you to do, it's to love people and live a virtuous life, which is the true reincarnation of god. Most monotheists (which is the majority of people who believe in a god), in my opinion, will tell you that. Stalin did all of the former. He emphasized the fact that everyone had to obey him, and did terrible things to those who didn't.

Careful on those sensitive areas... Be very careful when applying to the upper leg.
