megakiller32
Tommorow, starts my exam week. Luckily theyre not important and big, but theyre still exams. Ive done all together... 6 minutes of revision. I just cant get myself to revise, also i have poor techniques in revising. im going to try a different technique now, mindlessly reading through my textbooks. I went out to buy some caffeine loaded drinks, even if they do taste of phlegm. A little help please? :XD: Quit Runescape 30th May 2006.Thanks to Hawkxs for my signature :)
superson
I'd like to ask, what is 'revision'? Everybody talks about it, but I've never heard of it here in the US. Is it just like studying? You go over all the basics of the subjects and stuff you've forgotten. Literally, "to see again." The act of changing, rearranging, adding and eliminating elements of a work with the goal of overall improvement of the piece.

baron8000
If your revision is not web-based, disconnect your internet and give the cable to someone - be firm with yourself over it. I used this for my A levels and it worked for me :)
Range_This11
I'd rather have to study today.... But instead I have to annotate 3 more chapters of Brave New World #-o "He could climb to it, if he climbed alone, and once there he could suck on the pap of life, gulp down the incomparable milk of wonder." I used this for my A levels and it worked for me :) Yep. Well, I think the idea behind this post was that make sure the revision is your primary focus. It can be OK to have music playing (some people prefer to do so), but that's just supplementary, if you follow. The revision should be numero uno and the interwebs can be a big, big distraction. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
Powman3
You guys in England get many exams, don't you? In America, we have the SATs, and those are near the end of our school year. This is my last year in Middle School, so I'll be tested on every subject (except P.E.).

I've already done the chemistry practical and got 85%. I'm doing the core part of chemistry and biology on the 22nd. The higher module in June 2008 and the advanced module June 2009. This is my last year in Middle School, so I'll be tested on every subject (except P.E.). Once you're in highschool you'll have quarter exams in all your subjects, (obviously, the name) each quarter. This is in the US, I just finished mine. They're not necessarily that hard, but some teachers' tests are. Depends on your school. And you have SATs in middle school? What's that stand for? Probably not the same as the SATs here, those are only for upperclass highschoolers, I think seniors and maybe juniors. In Soviet Russia, glass eats OTers. Alansson Alansson, woo woo woo! Im not 100% sure though in the UK we get them in year 2 (when we're 6/7) year 6 (when we're 10/11) and year 9 (when we're 13/14). I didnt get them in year 9 because I got to a private school which chooses to omit them in favour of internal exams

misterxman
Don't study the day before the exam, study two days before the exam so that you don't have the anxiety of running out of time. Read through the section headings of each chapter first, and then the main points in each section. Later decide which sections need more reading. Music helps, but put it on low volume so it keeps you from going insane in an empty quiet room. Maybe go to a library or a cafe where people are around so you are pretty much stick with studying. rushrock
Are you guys talking about midterms? I'm confused... I have tests and quizzes all year, and every half year I get midterms. At the end of the year I take my final exam thing. Is this like any of your test schedules?
warri0r45
I'm leaving to catch the bus for a uni exam in a few mins. O:) Just 2 more, including today's, then a long holiday.

I don't know my school has a exam after each semester (half the year). I also have standardized tests like PSATS, CAPT, and SAT. As for studying, cramming doesn't really work that well, but since your tests are tomorrow go over the main points and then get as much sleep as you can. You don't want a caffeine crash in the middle of your test since you need to concentrate.

assassin_696
If they don't matter, don't worry too much and just enjoy your ability to mess up and it not matter. I can't. :P Depends on the exam, but practice questions are king in many subjects. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
