indy500fan
30 minutes? Better make sure to really prepare ahead for that. http://www.archive.org/search.php?query=WWI there is a link for archive.org's WWI media. Looks like some presentations (don't plagiarize them, just look at them for ideas), a few videos, maybe some images.
darkmage099
IF you know what happened, just google search things that fit it. 1 2 3 I dont know about clips though...it's kind of late for that. Just be neat and include general information on your poster but elaborate during your presentation. It will make you look smart. Rebdragon
That shucks. The beginning of WW2 is much easier to understand and explain >_<. Necromagus
Well, if the assignment lets you you could extend a bit back to the industrial revolution and the influence of the rapid development of technology on the imperium ideal that most major European nations followed... that should allow you to fill at least ten minutes if you do it right. adam_ross0
I dunno...but might as well explain that Hitler was a soldier during WWI, how he rose to power after WWI...then end there and explain that that's how WWII started. I'd also explain some of the technological advances..and the effect disease had on the war....

Wasn't it someone being assassinated, something like Franz Ferdinand but I don't think that's it because that's a band  . I remember it's close to the band name though. Oh, it's coming back... ya..., that prince from Austria died in '15, and then there was a big series of allied nations being dragged into fights to support their allies that were under pressure, eventually leading to the first Axis vs. Allies war once the teams were set up on both sides... ... damnit, that's all I got. Stupid recollection died on me. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. amoeba_009
Franz Ferdinand was assasinated, this got Austria Hungary mad at Serbia, the black hand/arm was a terrorist orginisation from Seriba. So they wanted to declare war on Serbia. Austra-Hungary, Germany and Italy were united as allies, and Britian signed an agreement with Russia and France to be allies. This was apprently not known to the Germans? Or so my reserarch has toled me, and they rolled into Belgium, breaking the treaty signed by Great Britian and Germany, their intention was to attack France, and so Great Britan was dragged into the war, so was Russia, and Austria-Hungary and Italy. >.< If i remmeber correctly, there were was many a treaty signed about Serbias freedom/statehood, they had many allies, as a result Austria-Hungary hesitated to attack. Germany would have had a quick and ultimate victory, if not for the battle/miracle of marne. They exposed a hole in their line, the French breached this hole and for the first time in modern warefare, TRENCHES!@!@. Stupid stalemate. -.- OT: Thanks guys, this is due on Thrusday. Maybe even posponed. :) Keep those links comming. \

meol
Seeing as how both of my German history teachers made huge emphasis on it, remember to say that the coalition system (this comes since Bismarck) and its development played a huge role. Otherwise the war wouldn't have gone beyond a small war between Austria-Hungary and Serbia. Also, please, try to avoid having an exposition overwhelmed with dates and useless facts: "In 5/11/1914 ___ happened. Then, in 10/12/1914 _____ happened. This caused _____ to happen in 15/12/1914." My 8th grade teacher did that, and I believe I memorized at least one thousand dates over the course of the year, studying American History up to the Civil War. Don't remember one of them. Not-a-one.
