I'm still going to have to get revenge on her. Not really though, I've been looking for an excuse to prank somebody like this for a while now. I'm going to send her emails. From herself. From the future. I highly doubt she'll believe it, but it'll be fun to see someone who's not particularly tech-savvy stress out over someone "breaking into their email" or whatever she'll think. I've actually got this pretty good. I just wrote a simple script to send an email with fake headers, and am going to change the time on my server to like 2032 so sendmail thinks it's 2032, just to freak her out =)

Haha, dude. I'm sending a prank email. To a teacher. Claiming to be from the future. For gods sake, if I was afraid of being punished, I wouldn't use my own script, that has my server address in the header, and the domain whois's to my address. Seriously...

It seems to me that it's more important to you to be 'right' rather than considering the real problem, which is inappropriate teaching.

 

 

 

How do you deal with people like that? Take you and your 'very concerned parent' to an interview with your principal and have your 'very concerned parent' voice their opinion that their son or daughter is in that class to learn about whatever it is they're supposed to be teaching, not their personal beliefs.

 

 

 

Try telling your ego to wake up, to stop dry humping your ID conscience and do something that's going to actually fix the problem. It's not hard... really.

Without the people's and companies (which are made up by people) tax money, surviving on import taxes and tariffs, USA would be a 3rd world country. Everything they do, plan, execute (even the salaries they recieve) are paid by the citizen. They don't just magically appear as a god-given grant by a council of sages.

Nice misinterpretation. He meant that people shouldn;t fear the government, because without them, it would be nothing. The French showed this during the French Revolution, gathering up the nobles and getting rid of them. While I don;t necessarily agree, I can understand what he means. You should try sometime.

If the government gets too arrogant and rude on your expense? Absolutely... It's this simple: If the government is tyrannic and acts wrong in the eyes of the public, it must be replaced.

The Bush administration already thought up this concept a year ago for Iraq (finally an idea with some intelligence). While minorities weren't well off under Saddam, at least he had so strong power he could keep the country in peace and economic prosperity.

The idea of dictatorship itself is nothing negative if the person chosen has proper morals, values and respect for human life. You have been brainwashed if you automatically think dictatorship means oppression.

 

 

 

There are quite a lot of tribal communities in Southern America and in some parts of Africa which live in dictatorship of a single male (or even female), and they are content with their lives.

 

 

 

Even the Romans had a selective dictatorship. Unlike electing a representative "President", they would elect a dictator for a difficult period such as times of war, and let him have absolute power over state matters for 6 months at a time. This idea worked phenomenally at times and helped preserve the roman republic.

 

 

 

A dictatorship not based on fear (but rather law and military control) can be very succesful and humane with the right leadership. Take a look at Singapore and look at where it has gone under a proper, un-official dictatorship under Lee Kuan Yew.

 

 

 

Singapore just doesn't fit the world's categories. It's a dictatorship with free speech, no fear, and no corruption. It's an economy that uses capitalist means to attain socialist ends.
