November 24, 200718 yr Someone in game was typing in all caps, which shouldn't be possible... runescape only caps the first letter of each word... How'd he do this? I've tried a few different ways, and no luck lol. Any help would be nice :) Thanks!

November 24, 200718 yr Could you imagine world 2 if there was all caps typing? My eyes would be sore after 3 seconds of all the morons thinking a sea of caps makes for better sale. I'd feel no guilt in reporting someone whos using illegal method to write in all caps, it's a self-centered and irratating thing. November 24, 200718 yr It's a bug and JAGeX is trying to fix it. I messaged them about it. I wouldn't suggest that you do it in game. It might be classified as bug abuse, I'm not sure.
November 24, 200718 yr It's not a bug, it's an alt code. If it was bug abuse, I think those people in Blogscape oughtta stop doing all the crosses and whatnot, eh? :wink: But they're trying to fix a few alt codes because they can allow censor evasion. I highly doubt they're going to "fix" the caps code, because it doesn't allow censor evasion (to my knowledge). It's just an alt code, which JaGEx doesn't seem to mind. I mean, how is typing in all caps offensive or even bug abuse :P Not to mention a minuscule percentage or RuneScape's players know how to do it. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
November 24, 200718 yr Alt codes aren't bugs. Jagex blocked the TM sign (Alt + 0153, cant do, laptop) but not the copyright or registered trademark. I don't blame them. I think they should block 'em. I dont need a siggy no moar.
November 24, 200718 yr The actually codes aren't bugs, but using them to get around the chat restrictions JaGEx set (no caps in a row, only with periods/spaces) would probably be bannable. I would assume it would fit under Bug Abuse somehow.
November 24, 200718 yr Author Thanks for all the replies :). I tried the Alt-codes. No luck, it only caps the first letter lol. So no go on that one. I wouldn't use it for selling, or anything like that lol. I just think it would be cool to be able to emphasize certain words every now and then... Any ways, thanks again for your time :).
