It's people like you I hate, you bow down to cig companies and say "well give me a reason blah blah blah...". Look, if it floats your boat, thats fine, I wont preach to you about how bad it is for you. It's proven that 1 in 2 smokers will die because of smoking. I'm especially biased on this because my father smokes, and I can see it taking it's toll. He wheezes when he breathes, I plead with him to stop, but he says "I will"... Be smart and drop the damn cancer stick before you die.

I have several friends who claim 'I'm a social smoker', and yet, when we're all at a party or having fun inside, they say 'I'm just nipping out for a good person.' I truly don't see why people make such a big deal about smoking. I've been smoking since I was 14 and but I still maintain exercise and eat healthy. I have not noticed any difference in my physical or mental capabilities. Also maybe it's just me but I am not unable to stop smoking. The nicotine doesn't seem to really grasp me. Why is it that smoking can be addictive to some and not to others?

Businesses can fire people at will just for one reason: they smoke. The reason they fire them is because of the rising cost of health insurence. I was wondering that if cigs came out now, they would *never* be allowed to be sold. Now the goverment tries to get as much profit from it as possible. They can't just ban it as there are too many people hooked to nicotine/smoking itself. That would just cause major protests against goverment. Also blackmarked would be running. Just like in Finland when alcohol was banned (released 1923 if I remember right); People bought illegal alcohol, paid A LOT to dealers and such. When will people stop getting the idea that bush is just after "oil" or that he has conections with the Bin Laden family for "oil.." With the exception of WW-II where Japan attacked pearl harbor...) there realy haven't been many wars where we have been threatened directly, yet we've been in quite a few. And as far as i know, we are still looking for Bin Laden, its just not a big "war" or a big effort. There are plenty of US soldiers stationed in places such as Iran , ect. ect. The thing that gives me the [cabbage]s is people expecting that they will live until they are 80 years old or whatever, and if they don't smoke then they will. that isn't a reason to smoke. I have never seen somebody that started smoking to fit in with someone. most of my friends don't smoke, but the ones that do never ask me to smoke. You probably just have stupid friends that think smoking makes you look cool. if you ask most people in my school they'll tell you smoking just makes you look stupid and act stupid.
