December 3, 200718 yr I'm just waiting for jagex to do next years budget and wonder where the hell all their memberships went? I am sure they will be just fine, ppl are joining everyday. EVERY time there is an update players run to the forums to declare it is the end of the rs world, "cash in now folks cause the partys over"..."ppl are going to quit in massive scale"........and it never happens, and the game goes on....and on...and on. Adapt, adjust and move on. A stable economy would be a good thing, and it can't happen over night. People are going to lose some cash at first as the market teeters back and forth. In the long run it will be a better game. RS name: lord krohn Combat 138slayer specific: 103 whips, 38 dark bows and 250+ dragon boots dropped to date.Dragon drops: 5 Half shields, 21 drag legs, 8 dragon skirts, and 9 drag meds dropped to date.
December 4, 200718 yr Just like someone said before....millions of items flooded into the G.E. bringing the prices down. Alot of stuff like Rune items dropped to near high alch value. Hell I just checked green dragonhide bodies and the lower end is 20gp LOWER than high alch value. Now that this has happened people will start to simply high alch their drops/common clue rewards. That means items coming into and leaving the game instead of being sold and increasing these amounts. That my friends will create DEMAND and prices will start to rise.
December 4, 200718 yr i have 15k addy bars that i smelted addy ore 1400 ea 6 coal 1080 nat 300 cost 2780 current price of addybars 2300 400 loss per bar 6 mil loss total, and addy bars were 3k ea when i started so thats like a 10.5 mil potential loss I am sorry for your loss, but what did you expect exactly? I have smelt several thousands of addy bars too, right before the GE. My cost was a little lower, as I used the huge amounts of coal from my kingdom. But I tried really hard to finish smelting them all before the GE came out, I sold them at their old price with a nice profit. I mean, it was obvious the prices will get lower due to the GE! When I think of all the posts commenting on the GE before it came out, everyone was announcing how they will sell stuff! Moreover, more and more people train at avianses and more and more addy bars are brougth into the game. When I realized this too, I stopped buying addy ores to smelt them... I'm sorry to tell you this, but all you have to do is to "read the economy" from time to time. If not, better stop playing "money games" It's an ever changing world and those who believe their money-maker method will never change are in for a surprise, sooner or later 103 combat | 1M+ xp in each skill (lvl73) | 1800+ skill total | quest capeLevel 86 herblore, 85 farming
December 4, 200718 yr I lost about 2M of net worth due to GE. Still, I am not complaining. I am willing to pay 2M to never deal with merchers again.' Salut. Cheaper Prices = You need less money to buy items = It doesn't matter that you get less money for your items because other items are also cheaper. No more wasting time competing against auto typers and cheaters. 21 lag piles, 4 Pjs, 2 Party hat kills, 67 newbs teached.
December 4, 200718 yr Meh. They had good (However misguided) intentions. Still, the Duel Arena update was really stupid in my opinion. But, it doesn't affect me, so I don't mind. sleep like dead men wake up like dead men
December 4, 200718 yr OMFG your actually going to have to use skills to make money now instead of trading and staking ... HOLY [cabbage] the world is going to end !!! Started January 2001
December 4, 200718 yr The smartest people sold everything they could during November and waited for the GE to drive prices down to buy them back. The most foolish ones stocked up on items thinking buyers, instead of stockpiles, would show up at the GE. Banks aren't close to clean, people aren't short on items, and balance is still a ways off. We haven't reached the bottom yet. Billions and billions of items are waiting to be sold by people who just banked them and couldn't be bothered selling because of the difficulty in doing so. Now that it's easy, the GE has filled with items. There is a glut of supply entering the market that never came there before. Sudden jumps in supply should always result in lower costs. Best opinion in this thread. The marked became "insta-flooded" when the GE was released. Now, we have to get rid of the HUGE surplus of items everybody put up there all at once. Once all these items have been sold, the prices will stabilise. It may take a while, yes, but eventually it will. And if i'm wrong, then items just got a lot cheaper! As stated before by qeltar: if you buy them for personal use, that's no problem. If you buy them for merchanting, then that's too bad. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked...

December 4, 200718 yr boo hoo to all the people crying about the ge i lost 5 mill and i am f2p and i have always been f2p i am easily regaining all the back slowly by my way of making money and making money in f2p is a lil harder than p2p so deal with it stuff happens
December 5, 200718 yr the duel arena game is dead, i guess 99/100 people that have staked, will wand the old arena back. Your acting like every one made a profit... Just as much people lost money there then other people has gained. he first update, that at least helped players, is the grand exchange, for everyone it's easyer to buy items there, for lower prices, that means that regular prices could go down and down. And it happened... Your just viewing it on 1 type of item, rares and other things are going up. I had the max money for guthan's spear put in the GE for a week, and still have not been able to buy it yet, and the price keeps on going up. The reason most things go down is because theres big supply, and small demand. Most of the items that went down where merchantable items: Easter egg: From 6.8m to 6m Herbs and potions: Ranarr 7.5 to 6k Prayer pots even to 5.5k Easter egg is going to come back up, discontinued items will ALWAYS continue to raise, yes it might have a bad month, but it will always continue to raise as long as no more eggs are entering the game, and people are still wanting to buy them. (Most useless rare ever) I am 100% happy that potions are going down, I can buy prayer pots for training cheaper. At world 18 there are many potion merchants, they use to buy prayer pots for 7k each and sell for 8k. If they had 70m, bought 10k prayer pots, they just lost 15m, and this is not the worth part. Yes lets buy prayer pots just to resell, I am pretty sure jagex wanted this in the game[/sarcasm] Staking is dead: D BOLTS (E) are almost 6k each, they use to sell for 9keach. That is because more is coming into the economy and less is leaving, unlike bronze arrows which is going to always be low (even without the buy-x/stores) People actually pick up d bolts, because they cost 7k ea, rarely do d bolts leave the economy while d bolts enter the economy all the time from hunters. Things that cost more will always continue to lower as long as there is more entering the economy then leaving.
December 5, 200718 yr Yes, that is true, people did lose a lot of money on GE and staking has affected the economy adversely. Before the update I did post that this will drive prices down as this is what happens in other games. Basically with a searchable auction/trading house sellers will always undercut each other leading to a downward spiral in terms of prices. Don't worry since prices are down although you lost money you can still buy items for cheaper now. The Runescape Wilderness - Meili's Blog
December 5, 200718 yr Yes, a lot of people have lost money because of the updates of Novembre. But I believe that we, the players of RS, have got something for this money loss; Less real-world item traders! Add me if you so wish: SwreeTak
December 6, 200718 yr Well, before reading this: 1) This is not a rant. 2) I'm not asking jagex to remove the updates. 3) I'm a victim of the losses, and i'm allright. 3 Updates have made many people lose a lot of money, and some of them quit, the duel arena game is dead, i guess 99/100 people that have staked, will wand the old arena back. The first update, that at least helped players, is the grand exchange, for everyone it's easyer to buy items there, for lower prices, that means that regular prices could go down and down. If they had 70m, bought 10k prayer pots, they just lost 15m, and this is not the worth part. Those where only examples, barrows, furys, infinity, rune, god armours, ores and bars, ranged items, went down. 2) Duel arena update: The worth part is that many people quitted, but many people merchant supplies, obby rings, rune knifes, bolts, runes. Weapons. Staking is dead: D BOLTS (E) are almost 6k each, they use to sell for 9keach. Runes, death 300each at arena, bloods 500gp each. Rune knifes 4k each, this are much cheaper. Post about this. I lost 7m to d bolts e. I'm still happy =P I quit, i was a staker and Merchant....
