Windows users....

:boohoo: I have no pity for Windows users.

Now that Windows can run on a Mac more safely than it can on native PC hardware (if the Windows side of the hard drive gets infected, you can boot up in Leopard and kill the malware), it's pretty lame to buy a Dell. Especially with the extremely affordable $600 Mac Mini. \'

Sorry to be so one-sided about this; it's just a completely obvious thing not many people seem to understand.

Why is it that one would buy a PC (Dell, Gateway, et cetera)?

Custom build PC will murder any Mac, not to mention it will cost 2 times less, plus we (PC users) have Linux and can remove malware just like you (AS IF we can't remove it using Windows, plus anyone who clicks weird links like "You've won 1,000,000$" deserves to get infected in the first place). Not only that, but we have an A LOT more software to chose from, and lets not forget games run a lot better on PC.

Vista has better OS graphics, is almost as secure with good software, and a Vista PC costs about half the price for much better components (3gb RAM, Athlon 64 X2 4800+, 22" LCD for $700: My dad's new PC).

And we can run Mac OS. It's just that Apple is so scared of people figuring out that it's possible that they make it illegal for anyone to actually do it.. Unlike Microsoft. I saw a video of someone doing it though.

And we have more software and games, and common sense. Did you know Mac OS X ships with its firewall off, and doesn't ever tell users to use it or install antivirus software? Go to System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall to check.

I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.
Pics or it didn't happen.
I hate my generation.

Well if PC users dual boot Linux and Windows we can just boot to Linux and kill the malware if the Windows side gets infected. See what I did there?

The only reason Windows Pcs have more viruses is because a lot of people use them. Virus makers would rather infect 90% on computer users than the 5% of Macs. Macs do have a viruses and it's worse to get rid of them because there is not nearly enough software to fix it all, unlike Windows.

Oh, hows the Mac gaming going? I'm enjoying Crysis right now.

Apple does have a good operating system but Mac users do need to shut the **** up. They think their better than Pc users because they can aford to pay $1000 more for the same hardware that would be in a PC. You can't forget about the nice white paint job because looks are way more important that functionality  .

This is all coming from an IT guy that fixes computers and I like to see the pros and cons of each operating system and Windows has a lot more pros that a Mac. I have used Leopard and it isn't some amazing piece of software either.

No one cares.

It is not 'more safe'. You can get infected just as easily on Apple hardware, which translates to OSX. If you're stupid enough to get infected on a windows machine, you're stupid enough to give malware admin rights to your precious Mac for it to do just as much damage.

Especially with the extremely affordable $600 Mac Mini. \'

And I can build a machine for $250 that's much more expandable, has a much wider software library and just as reliable.

Sorry to be so one-sided about this; it's just a completely obvious thing not many people seem to understand. Why is it that one would buy a PC (Dell, Gateway, et cetera)?

Why? Because most people don't care about the shiny unix variant that is OSX. People crow about the 'security' of OSX, which doesn't mean much to people that get themselves infected on Windows in the first place. Nobody wants to spend a minimum of $600 for a Mac when you can build a PC for $250 (and even add XP or Vista for less than the mini). It isn't exactly a sweet deal to move away from Windows.

Bottom line, take your fanboy crap somewhere else.

Like many other people have said, you can custom build a PC. The only reason why there are more viruses is that there are more PC users. If more people used Macs, there would be more viruses for Macs. Simple as that. Plus, PCs can cost less. You can buy a Pentium 4, Windows XP computer for about $200. I'm not suggesting that you change to a PC, you can do whatever you like, but if you want to insight flaming by creating this topic, then go ahead, and you won't be liked for it. :|

Damn I love topics which invite flaming.

The eternal mac Vs PC has begun of tip.it :wall: .

IMO Macs are for people;

*Who follow the crowd

*Believe everything people tell them

*Are easily scared

*Think of themselves as massively arty

It annoys me when Mac users start preaching, if you can do it on a Mac you can do it on a PC, if you can do it on a PC there's a chance of a Mac might be able to do it.
