ive decided i wanted to do a pixel SIG, rather than avys, like i have done. i wanted something involved in metal, and got the image of a guy, playing guitar or bass, with his hair over his face. so i started to look for a picture, and then relized, WAIT! i have the perfect picture, i took the picture when i saw Cannibal Corpse live, and i am basing this sig off of Alex Webster, Cannibal Corpses bassist.

 

 

 

anyways, here it is, im a LONG ways from finished, and the shading on the shirt, right now, yes is pretty choppy, and what not, it will be fixed

V3, Starting the hair, gonna be hardest part. also fixed the hand, and the arm.

Might be helpful to outline the whole thing in black before you start coloring/shading.

 

 

 

Not much else to comment on. Far too early.

It looks pretty decent, but the guy in your pic looks fat. :/

The blade of the bass looks way too small. Need to make it bigger, other than that it's coming out nicely. :)

If its a bass guitar, then why has it got 5 strings? :) I know, he might

 

use a 5 string bass but I dont know about that.

Make the ring finger slighter shorter, and the middle finger's end should be less... bulbous.

 

And make the little finger curve ever so slightly to the right (facing the other fingers).

very nice so far, I'd plan in all your colour and shade megaroughly before you go too far into detailing this badboy. Get your volumes sorted and maybe settle on a decent palette. work on it as a whole and define areas bit by bit. It may be messy but it will definately help you in the right direction cus you'll be dumping whats in your head onto the canvas, making it easier for you to move this piece in the right direction. :)

 

 

 

don't think it as, linework -> colour in linework. because it becomes more like a colour by numbers.

it's looking great so far, i think you've nailed the pose. only i couple of things that don't look quite right.. the skin tone on the hand looks a bit too pink, and i'd get rid of that black outline when you add a B/G. Also the head of the bass looks a bit small.

I kinda like the black outline too. The hair's coming along pretty well - however, some of it looks shaded a lot more lightly than the other parts. Looking good so far.
