Melkolmr
I doubt it will be fixed, because of the tremendous arrogance Jagex shows towards its customers, and because of the unbelievable number of players who will march in lockstep with these absurd restrictions. I've been a major apologist for Jagex in the past. But this is too much, even for me.
1unahtreiloh
free trade control or bots and rwt's like no ones business? i ask you, which is better? personally, i look forward to this, as do my 2 closest rs playing friends. this is going to make the game and getting things YOURSELF, for all you rich (read: lazy) people out there, easier, so maybe you can earn the levels, instead of buying them. so THERE Watch me on YoutubeCurrent Let's Plays: Kingdom Hearts, Golden SunFuture Let's Plays: Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, Golden Sun II: The Lost Age

Sir_Sibz
Ugh, sometimes I feel Jagex is blissfully unaware of what's going on, despite the fact they DO. What I'm really disappointed about is that we won't be able to borrow things or give gifts to our friends anymore. (especially after January) Another freedom taken away from honest players. :(
xvillexvalox
I can see this being very inconvenient for trading items for items... Imagine trading a mask for a different mask, or phats, or even just some whips, dark bows, thirdage or barrows. at such high prices a difference of over 5% wouldn't really make a trade unfair necessarily. Artificial_Doom_Flavor
Player to player trading is not dead, just changed. Basically you will no longer be able to make exhorbitant profits at the expense of other players lack of knowledge of the market, which IMO is a scam anyway. When I was about my first three months into this game, period, I was really big on coal mining. I mined that stuff day in and day out to buy whatever it was that I wanted for any particular job/quest/monster/training exercise I wanted to do in addition to mining. I sold that coal then for 150 coins apiece, when little did I know that at the time it could just as easily be sold for close to 200 coins in a market world. If I was "scammed" by the person who bought the coal from me, I sure didn't feel that way- I felt like I was getting the proper amount of money relative to the effort I had been putting in, even if I might have literally been selling myself short. A couple years down the road, I went from being the coal miner to the coal merchant. I paid what people were willing to sell their hard work for, and I resold it for high profits. I didn't feel a bit of remorse. I was giving people what they felt they deserved for their labor and, by delivering it to the parties who would make use of it so that they wouldn't have to world hop and buy their goods, I earned my share out of the goods as well. Merchants essentially make most of their money off of others' willingness to sacrifice some coins for convenience. If that's a scam, then maybe we should shut down shipping companies and go grab goods ourselves. You might argue that the GE handles this role now- the middleman- and does it without allowing lower-leveled or inexperienced players to be exploited, but the fact is that a good portion of players get their income this way and use it to fuel their other passions without having to skill for extensive periods of time like they might have done in the beginning. With the abolition of high-profit trading, they MUST now turn to skilling or alchemy for their money when they could have made all they needed and trained their skills far more efficiently than if trading were left unaffected or had more reasonable limits or limitation systems put on it than have been proposed. Oh. Right. And some people find merchanting FUN. Still enjoying RuneScape?
Saru Inc
What I dont understand is how items are going to fluxuate (Spelling?) in price with the new trading system/GE. Santas are roughly 22m each right now, so does that mean that all rares are stuck at that exact price forever since thats the price the GE registers them as? and since you cant charge more than 3k for them? I dont get it really. They are "supposedly" prices set by players, though they put limits on items so who really knows if we the players are setting the prices you can still buy/sell 5% from GE but who knows, with jagex's recent brainstorming sessions they might want to control it completely the price doesn't change with player to player interactions though you will have to make a trip to varrock every time you'd want to sell something to see what the new prices are I agree. This update did have some good things. But man, anyone who is only a mercher just better quit. :| I mean, eventually, JaGeX will control all the prices. The only way for rares to go up, is if everyone sold for the max, eventually the max would be the norm, then buy\sell for the max, and then the max would be the norm. But that'd take forever.
