I may not be one of the admins but I can definitely pop in here and say that we will not be giving moderator powers to clan leaders just because they are one, even if it is for the clan board.

 

 

 

All of the moderators that are picked are picked because we trust them. If we were to apply this process to a clan board, then some clans may claim that we favor some clans over another. Also, there would really be nothing stopping one of these leaders from going in and terrorizing the topic of another clan.

 

 

 

By keeping all moderator functions restricted to a group that we can control, it makes it much easier on us.

 

 

 

You make a good point. Perhaps we should just allow the moderators already present to have moderator powers after all. Such as: Global Moderators, Administrators, Super Moderators and Clan Moderators.

 

But some Moderators, and Admins may not be interested in the clan based forums. Perhaps if it does become a part of Tip.It, Give the clan moderators the ability to moderate the forums? Then, Ask if any other current moderators would like to. : Or anything else like this?

Clan Admin would be one of the greatest things that could ever happen to our Clan Section IMO.

I'm thinking that you should only give trusted members moderator powers perhaps. The staff can make the final decision I suppose.

 

 

 

Clans will see it and will want to become a part of it. Therefore, more activity.

Adding to what I said above, I think that the clan moderators and global moderators and super moderators should get access to moderate it. They won't be obliged to do so however, they will just have the ability to so. They are also a neutral party, so they can make decisions without a lot of bias, if none at all.

Well, you can make the permissions so that the clan leaders have certain Mod powers, but won't appear as Mods, so its like a private Mod. That way they can organize their own clan with announcements or stickies.

Actually, we have two major projects that are being worked on very heavily & swiftly. It's finally starting to look good for usÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ã

You don't need to be THAT pessimistic, Gamerr. It is important for people to keep threads like these alive, however, so staff post a response. Part of the reason this board exists is for staff to communicate with users about possible board updates - not just a dumping ground for ideas that never get any comments.

 

 

 

Not to stir the pot any... but one can make the assumption (however incorrect it may be) that this issue simply isn't that important to the staff right now. If it was, people would be actively posting here and gathering input. That or providing more details/assurance that things are progressing ahead.

I can understand that our clan sections aren't the single issue the staff must concentrate on. They've got tons of other work they need to be doing, but they do shed some light on the clan aspect.
