INTRODUCTION:

The king black dragon is a level 276 black dragon so, you need to be prepared if your going to fight him.

That's what I'm here for :) The KBD (king black dragon) is located underground in the lava maze,

this is in level 41 wilderness but don't worry the actual KBD is NOT located in the wilderness.

REQUIRED STATS

Your going to need:

54 woodcutting (for the waka canoe)

60+ range

40+ defence

60+ hit points

These are the lowest you will get away with it's recommended to have atleast 10-15 higher in each stat for smoother kills

(NOTE: I didn't say you need any melee stats because your going to be using range, melee is possible but your going to take more damage)

To Get There:

Following my guide you will be banking at the grand exchange/varrock west bank.

From the GE go to the canoe station at Edgeville. Build a waka canoe and go to the wilderness (remember theres no canoe tree here you have to walk out)

Once here continue to the lava maze, you might bump into a green dragon or two but thats about it.

Once your at the green dot use 1 dose of each of your potions and run to the ladder then run to the lever

EQUIPMENT AND INVENTORY

aV2NNe_J.jpg

Left arm: Anti-Dragon fire shield

Legs: Black D'hide chaps

Hands: Black D'hide Vamps

Feet: Rune Boots

Finger: Ring of wealth

The only thing that is must have is the anti-dragon fire shield.

Basicaly you want to max out range attack bonus and magic defence

Pq2KPz9r.jpg

-Ranging potion (4)*2

-Antifire Potion (4)*2

-Anti-poison (4)

-Varrock Teleport Tabs

-Rune Axe

-The stack of bolts your not using

-Rest food monkfish or better (the food shown is potatoes with cheese, they heal the same as monkfish)

METHOD:

Once your at the KBD lair you either just run in and start shooting him into death (solo)

OR

If your in a team you need a bit more orginisation, your going to have your team circle around the KBD so he wastes time spinning between attacks.

This gives more time to eat and think about whats going on, plus your going to take alot less damage meaning more kills per trip.

Either way after the kill pick up drops, heal, and check stats re-pot if needed

aV2TYmhJ.jpg

(like the pwnage pic?)

On a average solo trip I can kill maybe 2-4

On a average team trip we can kill maybe 7-10

These numbers are only going to apply to the mid-level player

SOLO OR GROUP?

This is really just a personal kinda thing, going solo means less kills and more supplies used but you get all the drops.

In a group your going to kill many more but theres no guarantee that anyone will split the money from a visage.

If your going solo don't expect to make lots of money

If you go in a group take real-life friends or really trustworthy people, you don't know who's getting the good drop

Thanks for reading, I hope it helps out. Constructive critisism is welcome, anything you think I should add probably will be added.

Again, thanks

your method of travel sends you across the wild threw tons of dragons, and most importantly revs. I recommend just taking portals from wild 13 to wild 44 then the short walk much easier. Also your required stats you need to raise by about 15. So not to sound to harsh or anything I personally think your guide might need alittle fixing before its ready. Fix a few of the mistakes and it will be a decent guide.

is it posiible to kill KBD with 3 man team, we are about lvl 80, one mage, and two rangers. (73mage, 72 and 69 range), defs and prayers are also quite high.

The clock is ticking, and your time is running out, mortals.

Yeah, dormando you should be all right. Don't expect to make money from it or anything though. Just for a bit of fun with some friends.

Money is a bonus though :P

Another thing to add is that whenever you are frozen by the KBD, regardless of how close you are to it, regardless of what combat strategy you're using, you cannot attack it for a few seconds. What I recommend is eating while you're getting blasted by it.

Another thing is that whenever you're nearing the end of your trip, use protect melee and get close enough to where the KBD melee attacks you. That way, it wastes time melee attacking you, thus leading to less damage taken, making your trips last longer.

Another thing is that even though they're a bit expensive, try investing in Diamond Bolts as well. They're quite effective.

If you're worried about the trust issue, you could put something with lootshare in there.

Also, I would highly suggest ruby bolts (until it hits half HP, hitting 50s is just nice), and as stated above, diamond bolts for after that.

Man, I really do love Runescape, and I'm sure if it was a real person I would of asked it to marry me by now.

with this setup i can get 5-8 kills solo per trip (97 range / 60 def)

with a team of 3 (2 ranged - 1 melee) we can get anywhere from 12-18 kills

-rangers wear my setup if under 70def (you want the most mage def + a decent range attack)

-melee wears best mage def while wielding a whip/dds or drag mace

teamde6.png

my strategy is to put a ranger and melee up close and on opposite sides, then 1 ranger back...after the kill we distribute everyones food evenly to keep us going longer...see my figure above

-also i found it useful when the ranger that stands away gets low on food...switch rangers spots

run up close and protect melee...giving less chances of being hit by mage(fire/ice/posion) attacks

like stated above...when frozen...use time to heal or pot up

i normally just walk from edge or sometimes use portals

Actually, if you use antifire potion + mage protect it acts as an antifire shield, I believe.
