i dont like the chat filter, thats no seceret. but when people are comming here saying filter on/off and all that, really is that going to help?

maybe slightly, but for the majority if we could have no consequential punishment for the way we spoke then trust me, the things that are said privately and not on RS would probably horrify younger children. sounds dramatic? ever watch drawn together? thats what runescape would be come, just less funny

Well couldn't we put it off all together? I mean, how are stars really that offensive you've got no idea what's under them. It's like that suggestion I made a while off back with a certain censor for certain words, so you can at least understand the sentence.

whats the point? those words will still lead to a abusive tone or something offensive. heres an example using tip.its filter.

hey you pile of [cabbage], if i ever see you ill cut you in half with a rusty axe and [cabbage] down your throat while i [bleep] your [bleep] of a dog

you might understand it better, but that does not mean that it could or couldnt be used in an even more offensive manner. instead of starred gibberish you get the PG13 version of porno movie.

i really could care less if we get a removed or better chat filter or even lessened/harsh punishments. it does what it needs to do, at at least to a point and thats the thing they cant stop every little thing and still have the game be understandable between 2 players.

id like for all you who have ever been to a chat room with voice enabled abilities or Xbox live or w/e to just compare that the possibilities to RS and the thousands of people + wierd and crazy unusual stuff. its endless.

btw, if jagex could add a chat filter to voice chat and introduce it to the game, id be impressed and laughing at the kids who would get banned for trying to use and abuse it

Now, you are over the age of 13. Would you have been offended by any of the above situations? If you were, gtfo.

You're right, the censor does suck, or "sook" but what can we do about it? jagex, listening to the customers? Thats crazy.

Most of tip.it users are mature people who are not offended by the word suck, darn, poof, ect. But then you have an even larger amount of people who would be offended, or if the censor was lightened would use that to make everyone else's life a misery. Sure if the players of runescape were all like the users of tip.it, I would agree totally, but they aren't. They would go around shouting and cursing, and pretty soon, we would all be asking for a tougher censor. Sure the censor seems tough, and it is to us, but all those beggars and scammers and people who are generally annoying, so now would you rather know that they can not say those things and have a tough censor, or allow them to say those things and annoy the hell out of you?

To me the answer is simple.

What a great censor #-o

Personally I agree, but I completely see why Jagex have the censor, which is so picky. It's another of these topics where the company is trying to cater for the majority. The majority of rs players are PROBABLY happy with the censor, they don't feel the need to try and evade it.

There's a simple solution, if you are trying to express yourself, and want to call something "crap", just say "rubbish". If you are talking generally and your text is censored, re-phrase it and asterisk it! (*)

Sadly enough there are people out there older than 13 yo who are offended -.-

Yeah, it's a shame.

And to many immature kids are playing and stuffing it all up for the rest of us.

Quick eveyone lets all blame Miniclip <.<

The censor is stupid.

When you say my name all lowercase it comes up like this: garet* #-o
